I bought this belt from Austin Leather Works at Comic Con 04. This was back when there weren't a lot of jedi belt makers/resources. Front Back The problem is, it was made in a renaissance style. Tying it requires one to weave it through a ring and leave a tail behind. Obviously this is not the jedi norm and not very sturdy when a lightsaber is added to the belt. So far, I have used velcro to hold the belt together and I wear it like this: Front Back However with this method, the belt tends to sag after some time. I was thinking about adding a smaller belt on the back inside of the belt, so that it can be fully adjustable. But, I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions?I know it is now fairly easy and cheap to make a more accurate jedi belt, but the style of my belt currently matches my pouches and bracers. Thanks.

I want to convert it to a jedi belt.
The only problem is that the belt is 3" wide and I haven't been able to find any 3" buckles around my area.

Why don't you simply use velcro? I glued and riveted 1 slices of 1 inch velcro on mine, holds very good and is ajustable.
BTW cool idea to use a Ren Fair belt, didn't think of it.

Vecro is easier and faster to apply too. The movie belts had vecro on them. I was sort of surprised.

I guess I could just add more strips of velcro and get rid of the ring.
What sort of glue should I use to attach the velcro?
The industrial velcro I use right now is starting to peel off.

Are you using the industrial, heavy-duty velcro like what the stormtrooper costumers use? If not, that might be your problem.

Tee hee...I guess that makes sense. Do they sell leather glue at Michaels? Thanks again for everyone's input.

I have "cheap dollar store velcro that sticks" and added rivets to hold them in place. Used it several time, no striping. Now I whish I had gotten brown one... don't really feel like changing it.

lazy...lol
so you want to keep the look, just make it function better.....hmmmm you could try just adding more velcro so that you can put it on tighter so your sabre doesnt cause it to sag. could work

Heck, I'd just make a brand new belt. But that's me.

Well Iagon's making a belt for this weekend.. Using a small black belt from walmart for the center and a larger wider belt for the rest.. I think he's just cutting slits into it and then hooking the back with a snap.. A very quick way but he needs the thing just for ths sat until Jaryk sends him the ones he's making for him. But Im having a time trying to see if that will work.. He just needs something that will hold.. any other suggestions for mods?

That's what I did... when the velcro began to peel off, I added a few rivets to keep it in place. I also have some velcro stitched on. I just punched small holes in the belt and laced it. If you use velcro, make sure you use actual "Velcro" brand industrial strength. You can get it at Staples or at a craft shop.
