My lightsabre began its formation five years ago. Not its construction, but rather its design. Over the past five years the design grew and evolved into what it would, one day, become. The core idea was a fusion of lightsabre designs from across the galaxy while maintaining an air of elegance. One year ago I finally found a sabre smith that was capable of realizing my design. I could not build it myself and Random Sabers told me that it could not be done. And yet Bob of Advanced Light Weaponry said that he could do it. The process was neither easy or fast. Construction spread out as payments were made on the lightsabre. Design elements had to be redefined and revised to meet real-world possibilities. And leeway had to be granted in order to allow for growth and artistic expression. The entire lightsabre took eleven months to complete. This is a lightsabre that far exceeds expectation. The tale of my lightsabre's crafting is a lengthy and involved one. Yet I will spare you the details. It was a trying and yet infinitely rewarding process. And thus I take great pleasure in presenting my lightsabre... The INFINITY:

Thank you for the comments and compliments. This lightsabre was a huge undertaking. Upon examination you can see a broad range of influences on my design... Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Luke skywalker, etc. The design was crafted to fit in the time frame between Episodes III and IV and thus has elements from both the original and prequel trilogies. Some of the design is solely my own (the D-ring, for example) and others are the results of the crafter's vision (all of the etching and painting along with the activator plate were devised by Bob of Advanced Light Weaponry, with the exception of the symbol etched on top of the lightsabre).
This lightsabre is crafted primarily from steel, as opposed to the more commonly used aircraft aluminum. This gives the lightsabre heft and weight. As can be seen, the lightsabre is LED equipped. There is a removable acrylic rod that is lit from an LED within the hilt that has been filtered yellow as per my desire. When not using the rod there is an insert fitted with two yellow citrines (the two crystals would be necessary in a dual-phase lightsabre, as this lightsabre is designed to be). The lightsabre possesses two brass thumbscrews, one near the emitter for blade length adjustment and one on the activator portion of the lightsabre to adjust blade intensity. The activator switch itself is a sliding switch that rests within a raised activator plate. When activated the switch not only ignites the LED housed within the hilt but it also engages the Master Replicas sound board also housed within the lightsabre. Yes, the INFINITY possesses both light and sound.
The outside of the lightsabre has been both painted and etched. All of the black portions are a textured paint (for the sake of grip) and the silver and gold details within the fore grip are painted as well. There are etched details and designs on the emitter, beneath the D-ring, on the underside of the lightsabre, and the symbol etched atop the lightsabre ahead of the activator plate (etched specifically at my request).
Also on the outside of the hilt are gemstones. There are two red gems on the activator plate (one on the plate and one on the switch). And there are two yellow gems on the emitter and the foregrip (one on each). The yellow gems are intended to echo the lightsabre's yellow blade. There are two additional gems on the undersde lightbox (one red and one green) and they are meant to mimic LEDs.
The custom D-ring is special. The design serves two purposes... first, it flows with the lightsabre's design and it fits within the curve of the rear grip upper plates and second, the D-ring is situated close to the activator plate in order to reduce motion. If you've ever run with a lightsabre on your belt it swings wildly and hurts when it hits you. This D-ring position reduces motion by repositioning the lightsabre's pivot point.
And unlike a traditional lightsabre that measures out at approximately twelve inches in length, this lightsabre extends to 16.5 total inches. The additional inches are to be found in the rear grip and in the extended fore grip. Lightsabres are often wielded with both hands and yet many lightsabres lack sufficient length to do this comfortably. I am specifically thinking of Obi-Wan's Episode IV lightsabre. The rear grip is quite short. In order to rectify this deficiency I added length to the rear grip and matched its length to the fore grip of the lightsabre. This provides counterweight to the lightsabre when wielded with one hand and provides ample room for two-handed use.
The INFINITY has a pattern to its design. When viewed from the top a circular pattern can be envisioned. It's as if circles are simply overlapping the lightsabre and you can follow the curves in the lightsabre's cuts.
In the end, this lightsabre cost a little more than $1,000.00 to have crafted. I reveal this not to boast, but to emphasize the work, thought, and detail that went into its crafting. I designed this lightsabre to be completely and utterly unique. Is it the greatest lightsabre ever crafted? Is it better than those seen in the films? My answers are biased and so I can not objectively answer them. I tried, though, to create something special that could never be equaled or rivaled. Hopefully, I succeeded in that task.

If you think that the lightsabre looks good in pictures you really ought to see it in person! The pictures I've put up of the INFINITY are the final pictures that ALW sent to me. The lightsabre itself just arrived here today.
The lightsabre is absolutely breathtaking. It lights up beautifully and the Master Replicas sound board sounds great! The pommel unscrews for battery access. The batteries are held in a Master Replicas Yoda battery case but, unlike the Master Replicas set-up that holds the batteries to the sound board by tension, my battery case has been hard wired to the board permanently. The makes the wiring set-up stronger.
There is fine detail etching throughout the lightsabre and the decorative gems are brilliant. The lightsabre isn't as heavy as I thought it would be. It's still made out of steel but the weight is negligible.
