That's nice. I've thought about leather grips, but I had always imagined wrapping leather strips than lacing up a square. Good work.

And I see your adjustable groover sitting over on the right side in the top pic. That's the same tool that I have.
What is that other tool? The one with the red handle?

the other tool is a carver. Here's what i did: I printed out a piece of paper with the design, traced it with a pen onto the leather (it was already dyed) then used the carver over the traced lines. it essentially made a dent into the leather. then i went over that with the groover, which revealed the lighter color beneath the dyed leather? is that clear? let me know if you need more explanation.
