I am working on concepts for my first light saber. and in my drawings I am noticing a problem.... the button gets in my way. so i am now working on a concept where you twist the lower half of the saber where your bottom had is to ignite it.
what do you guys think?

The twist activation idea sounds like it can work. However I hadn't done that before. I cna se asligth priblem with a twist. When you'er moving the hands it's possible to switch itoff on accident.

Yes thats certainly a viable method of switching.
If you spring load your twist section so that you have to push it up slightly before twisting it to unlock it then you also avoid any possibility of accidentally switching it on and off. More complex but alot more secure.

Hey... I really like that idea. The easiest sabers to duel with are the ones with the least amount of buttons, switches and lights or other stuff on them.

On one of the sabres my friend Kev has built there is no activation switch on the exterior.
He has built the on/off for the EL blade inside so that actually inserting the blade switches the inverter on.
Its very very handy as theres no possibility of damaging the inverter by it being on and unloaded as it cant switch on unless theres a blade connected.
