Okay my sabre is almost done, except one detail. I don't know what to use to cap off teh end. I wanted something different. Overall my sabre is very basic, not fancy at all. It is my first attempt so I didn't want to do anything hard. My own design, and I say again, ,very basic. It is made of a 1 1/2 inch pipe. Any ideas? Thanks

Mine is made out of a pipe too. What I used was a PVC pipe end. It looks like a big knob. The one I used came with a part you can screw off. I attached a flash light to it. I got the end at the home depot.

yer gonna laugh when I tell you what I capped mine with. There was a plastic cannister filled with candy out at the time Phantom Menace was released...it was really interesting and different...I cut the one end off of the cannister and plugged it with a annodized freeze plug from a Chrysler engine...and voila...end...

a hole plug works nicely too, try an d u se the chromy looking ones, not the cruddy galvanised ones used for electrical junction boxes, I will scan one of each probably tomorrow so you can see what they look like

Does anyone know where to find the faucet knobs like they used for luke's and Ben's in the first trilogy. I can't find them anywhere.

Greetings my freind, You can use a PVC pipe cap and then use a stainless steel pipe running on top of it. Kindly see it here: community.webshots.com/user/roize1968Hope this help to give you some ideas. May the force be with you... Jedi Knight Roize.

I found a lot of faucet ends at my local hardware store (that also is a plumbing company). They had a lot of old parts they let me rummage through. Didn't find anything I liked, though. I'd check with the smaller stores... they are likely to have old parts they wouldn't mind giving you a deal on. I ended up on my first saber using parts from a tuba. (Yes, the musical instrument) The gold valve caps look great. On my other sabers, I used a hose connector I found at Lowe's. It was brass and had a black plastic knob that kind of resembled a faucet handle. I placed a translucent shooting marble inside it (kind of looks like a jewel) and screwed it to my hilt. I have made several, using many different ends. One was a cap from a film container (not my favorite), one is a metal drawer pull that I got at my local hardware store, and my favorite, but also simplest, was a piece of a metal octane boost container...I just cut the end off, I used the other half for the blade shroud. I have also used the end off of a new metal (tin) flashlight.

I also used a pipe for my saber handle. Since the end was threaded, I just used a threaded brass pipe cap. It works.
