Well, my poor old boots of almost two years now are breaking apart on me at last, being that they're the only foot wear I ever have on anymore. So, since I'm getting my entire costume revamped and upgraded, I got some knee high boots from Wal-Mart and plan on mounting synth-leather around the main sections to build the spats of Anakin's boots. I've seen it done either around here or on the Legion boards, so if anyone has suggestions on how to build the synth-leather around the rubber boot, I'm keeping notes. ^^

You see, the calf of Anakin boots itself isn't knee high. It's the spats that should be reaching below your knee cap. But Anakin's boots are normally made of leather, as almost any Jedi's in the movie have. I can't imagine how vinyl and rubber boots can work well with each other.
Many of us, I bet aren't any experienced boot maker. Sometimes, I've hear people mainly get vinyl boots for like $40 and use some sitching and gluing. If you want to make your own spats for Anakin's boots, you're going to have to do lots of super glueing. There are six rows of strips on the spats. Do whatever the right porportions are.
Make sure to buy two layers of pleather for the spats. It should cost around $10-20 to make the spats itself. It shouldn't be too hard to make, but it's do able. I'm making the spats for the Singapore boots right now, despite I don't need it. I have Leather Boutique boots. I'm modifying the Singapore boots just for fun.
Or if you have the money to bid on Anakin boots on ebay, goes by the vendor, The Leather Boutique. They're the most accurate Anakin boots. I bought my Leather Boutique boots from this dude for only $295 including shipping.
Be sure to check on sonsofthesuns.com forum often to ask question on making Anakin boots itself. There are quite a few people who had made their own boots, with out any skills. Even someone on that forum was confident enough to attempt creating his right on accurate real leather boots from scratch. But I highly suggest you not to go what this dude did his way.
