Wow... that's a good source... they have wide and even extra wide. I'm an EE width, so that's hard to find. sometimes they say wide, but for women they think wide is D.
I just have a weird size... 8 EE because of my instep, with a 15 inch calf. Often when I order wide, the calf ends up being too big.

They came in and the calf is too wide. However it should be easier to have fixed than buying ones that are too small. Also the buckles on the side are a lot smaller than they appear to be. I plan to tak ethem in to have the calf taken in some and larger buckles and some straps added. I am hoping that I will also be able to have a belt made at the same time. There is a great leather/boot repair guy in my town. He fixed my last pair of boot that were too small in the calf. At that time I had him combine two belts I bought to make a unigue jedi belt. I am hoping that after presenting him with a lot of printed tutorials he can make me one from scratch. I am not sure when I will get around to going though. Hopefully this week.

Well I got brave and ordered a pair of brown boots off of the Silhouettes website last week. I have a pair that will work, but I really don't like them and the just don't fit right. So when I found these and saw that they were on sale, I decided that was reason enough to order a second pair. Like I really need a reason to buy a pair of boots. Nope. Now I just hope these fit better than the ones I already have.

Hi all! I know I'm new here and all.,...but thought I'd let you know that I've geared up to start customizing boots and belts for C3. I'm not in it to make a profit (just cost of materials), I just like the work and helping fellow Jedi out. ;D I can do stuff like buckles, straps, snaps, rivets, spikes, spots, stamps, etc. Nothing too exotic or complicated...if you are in need of help, just let me know! -Karma

Well I got my boots yesterday and they don't fit, so I'm going to try to send them back. One of my coworkers was telling me about a place called Boot City that's about an hour from Bloomington, so I guess I'll go check what they have in stock this weekend. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

Have you tried any tack shops? Especially ones that specailize in English or hunting/jumping? They might have some boots that at least you may be able to customize

No I haven't tired any tack shops, but after having no luck at Boot City, a tack shop will be the next place I try. Thanks for the suggestion!

Well it depends on the shoe/boot. I normally wear a 9, but sometimes a 9 1/2 depending on the style. The main problem is getting them to fit in the calf. No matter what the style, boots are never wide enough in the calf. Plus I have a bunion on my right foot, so I usually get a wide and sometimes a wide isn't wide enough. The older I get the harder it is to find shoes that fit right.

I just got my new pair of boots on e-bay last week. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5360190960&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1I haven't received them yet but I already know that I'll have to have them stretched out a little in the calf area when they get here. The price was definitely right. I just really hope I can make them work. I know that leather stretches but does anyone know how much it can stretch?

A lot depends on how thick the leather is and what kind it is. And your feet and legs can be sensitive to very small dimensions. A few milimeters can be the difference between comfort and agony. If you can get into the boots, but they feel tight in the leg, you could have a shot at getting them streched to fit. If they can't even go over your legs, that could mean they need more serious modifications.

I bought rather heavy Fry engineer boots with a zipper on the inside of the leg. The zipper was about 1 to 1.5 inches from meeting. I took them to a cobbler who worked on them for weeks. I kept going back on Saturdays (the only day he was open on which I could get there), try them on and leave them for another week. They now fit fine.

Thanks for the info. I got my boots today. They look fantastic! However, I can't get them on. They're too small around the calf, which is totally what I expected. The leather isn't very thick at all. I don't know if that's good or bad when it comes to stretching them. The other thing is that they have only been worn a few times, so they're pretty stiff. I was really hoping to find a pair that were broken in but I just couldn't pass them up for $9.99. (Gotta love e-bay!) I'll take them into a shoe repair shop and see what they say first as far as stretching them. But it looks like I will probably end up having to put zippers in. Well, looking on the bright side, at least they would definitely be easier to put on!!

Jen-Ru, I extend many, many thanks to you. *BOWS* ;D I ended up purchasing the brown leather boots you mentioned from Silhouettes tonight. (The all leather ones). I only called to get more information on them, but when I asked how many they had left in my size, she said she only had one pair available. So of course, I said "I'll take them!". And I just bought my first pair on e-bay last week! I LOVE them but alas, I have a bad feeling about anyone being able to make them fit the way they really should. They are too small in the calf area. I can't even get my foot down into them to see how the rest of it fits. I'm still going to take them in to a shoe repair shop to see what miracles they can perform, but I'm running out of time before CIII and I guess I'm just panicking!!! Now let's just hope the NEW boots fit!! The saga continues.......
