This is true, to bad I can't get my boots made by catskill moccasins, then I'd be happy, but VERY BROKE, but this place does boots for broadway shows, so I guess he'll know his stuff. My biggest problem is that my feet and legs are not normal, so standard boots are always a problem, I have no arch & a very high instep, an ankle problem and then my calf is large as well, so this is probably my best choice for getting what I want. and given what I spent on my belt, well...why not just go for it.

Well, this is just a reminder, that it's that time of the year when BOOTS go ON SALE!!! , So for those on the hunt, the search is on! I know those boots I saw in Sketchers are on sale, and have seen others as well. Keep watching your favourite boot spots.

good reminder....
I was watching TV the other day and there was a commercial for some shoe place...and in the background they had a really cool looking pair of boots...very tall...with not too high of a heel...they were black (unfortunately)...but looked great...I don't need another pair of boots...but did think of some of our members who were still looking for boots.....

I saw a couple of tall cheap men's boots at WalMart, they were about $40, one pair was seude & the other were sorta engineer boots with straps & rings at the ankle. 1 was tan, the other was dark brown

As I'm sewing this am (it's a holiday for me), I heard an ad that Shoe Pavilion is having a year end boot sale. Their stores seem to be only Pacific NW & California, but they have a web store, too. www.shoepavilion.com/This one's interesting, though not quite like the boots in the films, it might do, especially at this price: www.shoepavilion.com/851723.html Supposedly list for $90; shoe pavilion price $40; now $20! Currently web store has 6-10 M women's in brown.

[glow=blue,2,300]Should I get some used boots, like from an Army Surplus store? Although its pricey, I was gonna try to buy some black motorcycle boots. I thought they would be the right style I wanted becauseI wasn't sure surplus stores would anything like that.[/glow]

My boots are riding boots from an equestrian site. If you weant to see how they look with the rest of a costume you can check out my picture on the main page... I think I paid around $60 including shipping for the boots.

boots are just something you want to choose very carefully...as we have said before...at cons you can be walking around in your boots for as long as 12 hours..so make sure they are COMFORTABLE... .try to stay away from rubber...they are hot...
used boots on e-bay are the way that I always go...(my boots are also shown on the main site with the rest of my gear...I paid only $26.00 for the boots themselves and had a leatherworker add the details for around $50.00) they are generally inexpensive and if you ask the seller to give you key measurements you will find that you can get them to fit VERY well....and you can always customize them...but do yourself a huge favor...keep looking and saving money until you find the right boot...they really add a great deal to your costume...
that's my story...and I'm sticking to it.. ;D
