I found an awesome pair of boots at a Renassiance festival today, and just had to tell everyone and give everyone the web address. They make leather boots and man are they comfortable!! The ones I liked are called Low Buckle boots.......they come to just below the knee and have buckles on the foot, at the ankle, and several up the calf (6 buckles total). Some of the buckles can also be cut off to create a more custom look. Unfortunately, this style is not one their website yet, but they could probably fax you something. Solorad (my husband) liked the Peasant Boot, which also comes up to the calf but laces up instead. That one is on the website. I didn't think I would like it at first, but it does look very good on him (as Jedi boots, that is!). Only problem is, they are a bit pricey. The Low Buckle boots are $275.00 and the Peasant Boot is $215.00. What I really like about them is that the leather is very supple and the boots look like they have been broken in already. Not abused, but like your favorite pair of comfortable shoes. They feel great too, and I have no doubt they could be worn all day. Anyway here's the website info: www.sonofsandlar.comIf you order from them, the lady at the fair said to call instead of emailing or ordering online (it's quicker). And give yourself plenty of time, because it apparently takes 8 to 12 weeks to get your boots.

The Florida Ren fest, held in Deerfield Beach (Quiet Waters Park). Have you ever been to that one?

I've known the Son of Sandlar boots for years, since they started in fact. I have a pair of medieval court shoes that I bought several years ago at NYRFair. They do nice work if you can wear them, but they tend to be to narrow for my foot.
