I ordered about 3 pairs of different boots from Chadwicks and sent them all back. One thing to try is ordering wide even if your foot isn't wide (wear big socks). However, I eventually found a pair of plain brown tall boots at JC Penney, where I could try them on to be sure they fit. I then dressed them up with extra straps and buckles, which are actually just dog collars! public.fotki.com/kait/star_wars/new_jedi_costume/boots.htmlI found I had to use some leather glue to keep them in place, though.

emerita, I will tell you that the Brazilian leather walking boots have a 16 1/2 inch calf circumference plus whatever the elastic gore stretches to, and the side buckled riding boots have a 16 inch calf, no elastic (just measured them). Both are size 8 wide. The brazilian ones seem to run small though, I should have gotten a half size larger. I bought them last year. (Yes, I'm a boot fanatc). I'll keep my eyes open for anything that comes in wide calf...I know I've seen some recently in a catalog but I can't remember which one!

Thanks Leda. I have a 17 3/4" calf. I wonder if the larger the size, the larger the calf....hmmmm...then a 9 wide just may be big enough.....

Emerita, check out the Lane Bryant site, they have a pair of tall wide calf boots for $49.99 that come in black, taupe & wine that might do it.

Hi Jedi Knight. Here's afew sites you can find Men's boots on. There's differant price ranges from premade boots to custom fitted to your feet if you have the creds for it. :-) Linksa re below the desciption. Custom Obi Wan type boots here...Be the best bet, I HOPE I can nab a pair for me. motorcowboy.zoovy.com/product/47 I think these are brown, They come in size 12. gprix.com/dvfbt.htmThese are from the same site as the boots above but are Synthetic boots. They come in 12s and 13s gprix.com/chrbt.htmAnother Synthetic. These look nice. I might go buy a set of these :-D gprix.com/fwbt.htm And another pair. These were my first pair of boots and I've gotten LOADS of compliments on them. They hold up wet in water.(I've been soaked to the under clothing yet my lil' toes stayed dry. Always a plus :-D.) gprix.com/bcct.htm There ya go several styles of boots from Obi Wan's kind toother's. Kai Adi Mundi wore a pair of boots that appeared to be a suead fold over type. anda sleeveless over robe. I hope these links will help you. Main thing is serious comfort for the boots. If youdo go for the custom made ones, have a friend measure your foot at the END of the day when it's at it's biggest, then when you wear the boots, you won't have problems.

These were bought for use in the employ of the New York Renaissance Faire. Turns out they look fabulous doubling as my footwear in the beige and brown too! www.sonofsandlar.com/high_boot.htmAs Homer might say....."Mmmm....comfy...." Now if I can only dig up where my Parks Defiance belt is stashed! Argh!
