Motor cowboy is the same thing as west coast leather factory. The factory is in Thailand. I am on a first name basis with the owner because of these boots. He is a very nice guy and his boots are top quality. I just had a bad experience with him. I am going to work with him some more to see if they can fix them. All is not lost and don't let my encounter stop anyone from ordering boots from him. They are beautiful boots.

Nice find. I think I posted links for this company a few months back. Here's the text: "I found a listing for my boots here: www.bootbarn.com/mensbootsmotorcycleboots.htm?source=overture. They're Double H brown motorcycle boots. They're going for $109.99. But one of the other links I have with the Polo boots has actual replicas of other Jedi's boots. This link is the best: motorcowboy.zoovy.com/product/ANIK1. I might actually get these. I could use them double function wise as motorcycle boots. "Just do some fishing through the history of the thread. you're bound to find more.

yeah....we seemed to have covered a great deal in all the costuming threads...
so just kinda a reminder....even though they don't get posted to very much....there is a great deal of good information in all those costuming threads....great to have them on "record" and they should be a big help to those who come to us with no costume......

Hmm, do I see a costuming dealer link archive through the ripples of the force? Possibly.

I bought my first pair of Jedi boots on eBay for $5. Just search for "brown riding boots" and all sorts come up for all prices. The ones I got are vintage Italian leather, probably from the 1950s but are in great shape. A coat of polish and they are ready to go.
(I love eBay! Have been a member almost since the beginning. )

Well, I am now an offical E-Bay member! I just created an account. Went looking for boots. Saw a pair for $24.95, leather...said they were brown, but in the picture they looked black, so I didn't want to risk it. I still have my eye on the ones at my local tack shop although I can't afford them right now....but......they will be mine...oh yes....they will be mine......

I have a suggestion for a site to look for boots, www.museumreplicas.com. Some of the Medieval boots that they have are a similar style to some Jedi boots, and are cheaper than Motor Cowboy, but a bit more than Boot Barn. The Brown Medieval boot has a suede fold-over cuff like Mace Windu's. The other styles of boot might also be appropriate as Jedi boots depending on the tastes of the individual Jedi Knight.

Also check out Wal-Mart in the late spring and early summer for cheap riding-type boots. Got myself a back up pair of black "leather" riding boots (with a bit elastic in the calf area for us larger types) for $2! God fo a back up. I certainly can't afford custom boots or even most of the "real" riding boots! (even though I am a horse fanatic. And my ancient cowboy boots won't make the cut for a Jedi I guess)

hmmmm.....all I can tell you is to keep looking.....yard sales, e-bay, and even if you have second hand/thrift/re-sale shops in your area.....
It will really pay off in the long run if you wait to find something that fits and is real leather...I guarantee...you won't regret the wait. Properly cared for the leather will last a really long time...they will always look better...and they seem to actually look better with a little "age" to them.....
good luck.....besides my Jedi boots that I found on e-bay...I also found my Han Solo boots on e-bay.....you don't have to be a member to browse through all the boots on e-bay...but ...if you find something you like...you do have to register with e-bay in order to bid...but it is free to register as a "buyer"....there are only fees if you are going to sell something....

I thought I posted this the other day, but might have run out of time, the other day, I saw a really great piar of boots in "Sketchers" they were brown with staps & buckles at ankle and calf top, about $90. They had several piars that looked pretty good, won't work on my leg though. But in case anybody was interested...... I thought I'd post it, in case there's one at a mall near you. these were ladies, I think.
