Does anyone know where i can pick op a decent looking pairs of CHEEP boots for my costume. I don't sepend more then $40 for shoes... even for costumes. Theres been 1 exception to that and the boots suck. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks with them to get them to fit and not hurt my feet. They cost $100. i'm convinced cheep is better. Any ideas?

I am waiting for a pair of riding boots that I ordered to come in that will hopefully work. They only cost $30.00 (made of vinyl), and look like they will work once I dye them brown. Although, I am considering leaving them black, because who said a Jedi can't wear black boots? Anyway, I'll let you know what happens!

Hey Tanthos! I ordered them from a Western shop here in town. They are just vinyl/rubber riding boots, but they should be high enough. Mine were only $30.00, but I think Solorad's were about $38.00. We should be getting them tomorrow or Wednesday, so I let you know Wednesday night how they are. Plus, I'll get the name of the manufacturer for you. The only problem is they only come in black. I think I'm going to leave them that way though, instead of dying them, and have a black belt to match.

Here are the boots I bought through a catalog. They were more than I wanted to spend, but I figured that all my robe material only cost me $40, (even though it's wool!), I would just get these boots. Okay, okay, so I justified it.......... But hey, they are great boots! www.lbcatalog.com/lbcatalog/product/product.asp?pf_id=17205&

I need boots too. And you're lucky you got your riding boots for that cheap. I am a horse back rider and mine weren't that cheap. Can a Jedi have black boots? Because if so, I can just use my riding boots. What do ya think? MTFBWY

Hey Keyarah! I say go for it, why can't a Jedi have black boots? I actually am going to change the color of mine, because the materials I bought for my belt are brown and my pants are brown. But I think I will eventually make another costume (AFTER the Celebration! ) with a black belt and black boots. Maybe even a black robe. But that may be too much, and people may think I'm a dark Jedi. I certainly don't want that! I got the riding boots so cheap because they are rubber/vinyl instead of leather. But they look really close to the basic Jedi boot look, kind of like Adi Galli's. One day I am going to get a really nice pair of riding boots for the costume. We priced those as well, and they definitely are expensive!!

I splurged and got short brown leather boots by NAOT last summer when I first finished the long robes, Part of my belt is dyed to match & part is darker.

Well, I finally got the dye for my boots, and did the deed today. They actually look really good, and the shoe dye is very flexible. The preparer was fun--I almost melted one of the seams!!!! Strong stuff. Anyway, hopefully I will have my belt done by early next week (still waiting for the materials), and then I will have pictures! Anyone know how I can post them here so everyone can see?

If i dont find something soon I'm just going to have to go with my Darth Maul boots. They're black leather, only calf high, and got a zipper going up one side. 'm not spending more the $40 on boots for this. I'm refusing. so I may not look compleatly authentic till I find something.

Well this is the best time of year to shop for boots as they should be on winter clearance sales. In NYC some of the Army/Navy surplus stores have some passable boots at reasonable prices. Looking at the pictures that I have seen from EpII, there doesn't seem to be any hard fast rule for Jedi uniforns or colours, except assted styles of different muted earthtones, very functional utilatarian stuff.
