Does anyone have any idea on how to modify this pattern for better authenticity, especially the tabbard? I have the more correct pattern for the obi. If you did happen to use this (modified of course) how much fabric did you end using overall? I dont think im gonna use that pattern for the robe though. And finally if you did use this pattern would you post pics if at all possible. Thanks much.

Non-Obi-Wan tabbards are just 2 long rectangles of fabric over the shoulders. To do mine as one long piece (without a shoulder seam) requires 3 yards of fabric as I make 4 pieces and sew two together so the hems don't show and they have a little more body.

Jedi Wannabe, You May want to look at the post I just put up first. apfoister.proboards9.com/index.cgi?board=enostumes&action=display&n=1&thread=1257An for your question, some of each pattern needs a little modification, but not really alot, like the hood, most robes dont have shoulder seems, most all your questions are answered through the tuts on this site. (another reason i came here, these people already figured out most of my future headaches, hehe ;D *sorry, what I ment by this site was "The Jedi Assembly site"

well thanks for the thought but i already purchased the pattern (on sale, 50% off, score) and i think i know whats gonna be done, but i was just running it by everybody to see if i may have overlooked things. And Kai, Thanks I've already looked over your site and am using your obi pattern but one thing stumps me, whats the differece between and Obi-Wan tabbard and the usual?

Various Jedi wear them at different lengths, some are attached to the obi in back & don't hang below it in back, Anakin's are seamed at waist & shoulders, some are a bit wider, some are worn under the outer tunic/short robe, lots of variations. It's a lot of variations when you really look at them.

Who wears their tabbards under the outer tunic/short robe? I don't remember seeing that variation?
Yes, the Jedi dress code does seem to be quite loose.

Ki Adi, some would call that sleeveless vest w/ hood a tunic, some a robe either way, the tabbards are under it, but the belt is over it. Oh yes, and Xana does as well, and they look very good that way.

Personally....I don't like that particular pattern....
I don't care for the sleeves on the tunic (dropped sleeve)....and don't care for the robe either...but ... just a matter of personal preference...I am sure that it will work out great...
