My first robe I sewed was made from garbradine not sure how its spelled forgive me. I wasn't very happy with the look so when episode 2 came out I hunted and hunted for something I liked. From the pictures it looks like his is soft and fuzzy like a blanket. I finaly found some great brown fabric and was extremly soft and looked like blanket material. So is this true idoes obi wans look a lot softer than the rest of the jedis? Here is my finished episode 2 robe

The robe looks good. It's so dark in the picture, it almost looks black. How does it billow when you walk? Now usually the tunic sleeve don't show under the robe sleeves, so you might consider changing the length of either or both. How do the tunic and robe sleeves feel when you wear them; long or short or just right?

The question would be is the robe sleeve longer when your arm is hanging down, or is the tunic sleeve hanging out then. I'd say it looks like a Jedi robe though. Nice job. What was the gabardine made of, wool, polyester, cotton, something else or a blend? That can make a huge difference to the look. I found a nice heavy cotton that I've been using alot of lately, makes nice flowy robes that are good for most temps, esp. indoors or warm weather.

Yea your right I intend to shorten the sleeves a bit. I may just sew a whole new tunic cream color loke qui gon jin. I think my robe is almost as dark as his. I may have to get a lighter brown for a real obi wan look. For now the one I have will do for dragon con. The gabradine was a blend. I dont think I like that material though. I like to stick with the softer materials here is a link to some of my other work as well as the jedi costume you can probably see the fabric better here photobucket.com/albums/v297/Hunterpred210/
