Yep its made of wool. Nicely spotted. More than that though I bought it from a reenactors market, its made with an old fashioned traditional technique which gives it a nice 'rougher' character than a modern woven fabric. Works perfectly for the Jedi robe. Unfortunately it was expensive and the robe used 9 metres of material. That said it has wonderful drape and due to the shear amount of material it flows great, especially in a breeze ;D

Mmm 2 weeks you say. Well on the weekend of the 25th -27th we have another one of our weekend long Starwars Live Roleplay Games Attending anything good while in London ? Normally Id be in London too attending Salute (which is a really big wargames convention) but the starwars game is much more important. I havent been around much as Im in the process of getting visa's sorted out and putting most of my things into storage. Im going to work in Australia for awhile and theres been LOTS to sort out. So I'll still be in the International order just very far from where I am now . Still think it should have een called the Outer Rim

Outer Rim I like that, I'll suggest it to the council. I land on the 29th. Queen convention in Prestatyn is the 9-12th of May. Traveling in the middle, PM me if you want to get together.

HIya Schph. The outer robe is a rough woven wool. Im not sure where it was made as I bought it from a reenactors market (equivalent to a ren-faire event in the US I think). It does drape very vicely and has a very nice texture to it which was one of the main reasons for buying it. I used about 9 metres of material on it. My normal robes which you can just about see under all that material is a very thick linen with yet again a strong texture to it. I dyed it the brown colour I wanted before I started cutting and sewing. Theres about another 9 metres of material in the robe and tabbards/obi. The inner robe which you cant really see is a thin linen with almost no texture. Its nice and smooth so it doesnt chaffe Its left its natural colour. The trousers are just a pair of cheap normal trousers in a cream colour. The only thing I added to them was straps on the bottom of the legs so I could put the boots on without the trousers riding up my legs. When the rest of the costumes on you cant see much of them anyway. The belt I made myself. I bought the leather from Tandy and dyed it with some of their antiqueing dye (mid brown). The buckle is from a ladies shoe ;D The food capsules are simply cut down pens. They come those colours out the pack (£1 for 10). Only problem is the clips are plastic and can break but for £1 a pack I just bought spares. I dont have any pictures of my pouches yet but I made them myself too. A bit experimental and not like the movie ones at all. They do have one advantage though in that they are actually big enough to store everthing I need at a convention including snacks and a drink. The boots were some old calf length boots I had. I added false fold down tops with some extra leather I had to make them knee height. I think they work pretty well myself. The costume style is overall based on Mace's (boots, tunic etc) except for the outer robe. There was no way I was going to have sleeves THAT big Overall putting this costume together has been a great challenge and learning experience. I definately learned ALOT as Id never used a sewing machine before. Im currently working on a more 'custom' jedi outfit. Based on some of the artwork thats been released for JediKnight3. It should be cooler to wear too in the hot weather we are currently having. One thing I couldnt resist buying at the event the pictures were taken at was one of the official LOTR Fellowship cloak clasps. It goes really well with the Jedi robe. Phil
