[glow=blue,2,0000]What's the diff between fleece and wool? They both come from sheep, don't they?[/glow]

When speaking of "fleece" in cloth, no...it doesn't come from sheep. Think of "polar fleece" and "outer fleece"...like you make pullovers and stadium blankets from. This is a synthetic "fuzzy" fabric that is very warm and soft.
There are certainly types of fleece that would make good Jedi robes, and it's readily available...
Thought I'd try to clear that one up...

Polartec fleece, would make a nice comfy robe, I've thought about it several times, and I could cuddle upin it at home.

Now that would be nice. but it tends to be lite so would it flow properly.
Oh by the way I found this super ugly light plaid HUGE wool blanket in the botom of my closte. I'm gong to dye it Dark brown and make a cloak out of it. I'm ging to put something like syntetic suede or maybe light leather on teh bottom I think to Keep it from getting messed up to bad. I plan to wear it out in teh winter. Should get some stares actually alot of them in my town.LOL oh well but I'll be warm and my little girls like to cuddle in my long jackets. they work great when we walk to the car.

I think I'll stick to wool. Fleece is nice but there are some serious upsides to wool. Like its still warm when wet! Its very nice.

My next robe will be out of the heavyweight cotton/linen blend....the mid-weight that I made my new tunic with is soooooooo great.....i just love it....so the heavy weight should be great for a robe.
And this stuff is warm too...I came to work today (Halloween) in my Jedi costume...it is 40 degrees out....and I didn't even wear a jacket or the robe...I was comfortable in just the tunic.

I think I'm gonna make my next robe out of a light wool. It would work wonderfully.

I have the materials for mine, I just need to get it put together. The material I got is cotton, we'll see how that works out.

Cotton is good material. But it should be heavyweight for a cloak! Believe me.

I'd stick to the wool idea or any other natural fabric,as nat. fabrics "breathe much better. A fleece (esp. a polyesther) will get ya feelin' like yer in a pizza oven, there's no way to let your body heat out.

Oh believe me I understand the differences between natural and not. I'm a medieval reenactor. I have a polar fleece cloak. Its really light and really warm. I prefer my nice thick wool one.

I have a thin cloak Down here in FL, anything too thick and you roast quickly.
