Then wouldn't grey count as some rocks have greyscale colors?

That is just being stuborn. see how 3 other descriptions says it needs to be shades of brown. Wikipedia is edited by visitors, and not an official recognised definition, yet it still mentions dirt. when looking at online sources, you should always find several descriptions, as the online content can be biased, like wikipedia in that case. Nevertheless, the Jedi Code of TJA clearly states you need to have a shade of brown. see Jedi Code, Article V, section 3, alinea 1, from www.thejediassembly.com (code that ALL people interested in becoming member should have read in full...) The Council has the final say on anything for submission, but requestees should understand that all and every Jedi from episodes 1, 2 and 3 have shades of brown, and the Council will accept shades of brown unless replicating a specific character of the EU... Let's repeat 3 definitions, including the famous webster dictionary... see Merriam-Webster's online dictionary about earth tone: www.m-w.com/dictionary/earth+toneSee online's free dictionary definition of earth tone: www.thefreedictionary.com/earth+tonesOnline yourdictionary.com www.yourdictionary.com/ahd/e/e0009300.html

At some point, though, I think in AotC, there was a Jedi with a gray tunic. I think it was Fi-Ek Sirch, the Nikto who's depicted in the "Nikto Jedi" action figure. He seems to have broken all previous Jedi canon, including having a cream robe.

And Qui-Kel, you have more than one tunic. The one in the picture looks greenish in the first pic, and brown in the second. Perhaps you didn't say it was green, and the picture you sent was deceptive. However, we do know that you have a brown one also.

i'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem... i have at least two pairs of paints....one ralph lauren and one cherokee (target) brand....both of these are very comfortable pants. sometimes...i'd swear that they are brown...other times green. makes it difficult to get dressed at 430a.m. ..i usually wear a white or light blue shirt with them just to make sure it doesnt clash.
anyway...i think the fabrics that Anukh chose would be perfect for a Roth-Del Masona costume and couldnt he get in with a "canon" costume if he replicated that one specifically?? i dont remember. I like the moss colored fabric...whether it is acceptable for canon membership or not.

That is just being stuborn. WEll not being stubborn here, just a might confused as there was a different meaning, besides I am finishing my first set which IS CANON, being made from a brown robe and sandish colored tunics, obi, etc. I'm sorry if me wanting to double check has in someway irked you. The main reason I asked is that if earth tones are colors that are natural to the earth, not counting any plants, animals, etc. Then it could be concieveable that greyscale would count, as would, green, purple, pink, etc. being that they are found in various forms within the earth itself.

Earthtones are not tones found on Earth, earthtones simply means colours found in the earth, as in dirt. Whenever you hear the phrase earthtone, thats what it is refering to, brown shades, and there are several thousand-million shades of brown

justin..i agree...if earth tones referred to Earthtones...then all colors would be included...well...except for blue maybe. anyway...i see grey as the obvious "grey line" but still...the rules say brown. and we have millions of shades to choose from.

oh I agree the rules have been stated, but it depends on the definiton of "earth" in earth tones. If you are refering to the soil, then yes grey is not included. If you refer to the Earth, as the definition, then yes it is. I do not seek to get the council to change what they require. First it is not my place, second I will have the earth tone robes as well. Just thought this would make a good discussion.

I agree that it's a greenish-brown. It can look more or less green or brown depending on the light. The category of "brown" can be vary broad.

Thes, the definition is as I stated it. What ever the council says, the real deal definition of earthtone is brown colours.

Regardless of the definition of Earth tones, we accept shades of brown for generic Jedi costumes. There is no Earth in the SW universe anyway.
