Greetings, Council.... (bows)
Recently I was looking around on the MB at the different threads about opportunities available in my area, and I found myself getting a bit confused about what was when and where.... (specifically Chattanooga in March and Knoxville in June)
As a "sorta-newbie" I am not familiar with the "typical" schedule of conventions and parades, etc., and I'd bet others might have the same issue.
So, I wonder if maybe we could do a "stickied" thread at the top of each Order with a "master calendar" with a very simple list of the event, date, city, maybe a link to the thread, and then someone could go to the specific thread for more info.
To keep it from getting out of hand, maybe the Order Master would have to approve the calendar item.
I do not wish to create more work, but perhaps having a "master calendar" would help everyone with their planning and maybe help with turn-out at events. I don't know, and I will defer to the judgment of the Council.
Thank you for your consideration.
(bows)
Unfortunately, I think I just heard my Day-Timer say something along the lines of "When we last met, I was but the learner ... now I am the Master." Uh-oh.... I have a bad feeling about this.....

That's a very good suggestion. Let's see what the order masters have to say.

Not a bad idea. I don't see why not.

Maybe call it the "Mission Calendar" in keeping with current forum/assembly terminology.

Thanks for the positive feedback, and Koda, I like your idea for the name.
One additional thought I'm not sure I made clear except by the name "calendar" -- I think the list should be in chronological order first, and then event or city or whatever is best.

(bows) We might be able to find a calendar-format add-on for the forum. I have seen other sites with something similar. It looks like a calendar and highlights days that have missions posted, click on the day and get the full report for each mission listed. Forum Mods get to post items or designate people that can post to the calendar. I'll google some stuff tomorrow and get back to ya's. ~ Vonnor

But it's not a message board, just a website. They adapted a template for Homeowners' Assocations and it came out pretty amazing! I was "sort of" on the website committee but it was just a courtesy because they wanted me to do some artwork -- drawing on paper, not on the computer. Most of the time, my eyes glazed over with the technical stuff. So Koda, thanks for sharing your expertise! And I think it needs to stay as simple as possible, b/c yes, anything like this has to have someone to maintain it. (My idea was intended to help, not create more work....)

We do have a calendar available on here. I used to keep it updated way back when.......... but yes, it's a lot of work! Much easier to post it in one thread and maintain that.

I like the idea a lot makes it so much simplier to locate an event.

I agree as well....
Xana, How would I do an event calender like you have for the Southern Order?

It's just a regular post with a listing of the local events and cons.

(bows) Thank you again for the positive feedback. I was going to suggest that it be "stickied" but on second thought, adding events would do that in effect. If this idea is actually successful in practice (and not just in theory : and the list grows, might it be helpful to do the list in reverse chronological order, so things don't get "lost" too far down? Xana, what is your opinion? (bows)
