okay, 6/10/06 : means 2 months and a day before I am eligable for initiation into the order (8/11/06). as requested before, I am going to run images of my costume by the council NOW so I know what I need to fix in the next 2 months. pic 1 : a brighter comparison pic of my costume (mid) compared to Disney's mace and Shaak Ti. pic 2 : I'm pretty sure if I remember right that you need to have a picture of you ALONE in your costume so... pic 3: and last (for now at least) a full front pic to includethe boots... unfortunately it was taken into the sun - but at least it gives you a full look. again, I was wearing an "underarmor" shirt to keep cool. sorry for any inconvenience this may cause

*sigh* I ask that you please bear(sp?) with me. the airline "misplaced" our luggage with my 2 jedi tunics, robe, and all other accessories along with it. they say we SHOULD be able to expect to recieve it tommorow but I'm not very optimistic about it. May the force be with my baggage. lol
edit: YAY! they found all 4 bags and they're on their way now! all I need to do is check that everything is safe and in forking order and I'll be set.

Yikes, they lost your costume? It's a costumer's worst nightmare. I hold my breath every time I have to fly my stuff to cons!! Glad you got it all back.

EKK! They LOST your luggage? You'er one of hte lucky ones who got it back. I'm glad it made it back safly. This doesn't make me feel all that confident of the airport's conpedance if I go to Celebration 4. It all looks good. DXL.

Since the subject has been brooched in this forum I will pass on how I keep the airlines from losing my luggage/costume. When I am a couple of days away from the event I very carefully pack my costume, street clothes and necessities and ship them over night by Fed-Ex to my hotel. I then notify the hotel what day the box/boxes are going to arrive and they are waiting for me when I arrive. I do the same thing to get my items home and use a carry on to get me by while travelling. The nice thing about this is depending on how much stuff you buy at the convention/event you can pack them among your dirty laundry and your treasures won't be lost by the airline.

I must agree its a nice precaution. I has been working in tourism for several years, and it is rather "usual" not to "LOOSE" the luggages, but to *send them the wrong direction*, and a high percentage of people are luggageless for a few days. You should always have at least one day of everything in your carry-on.
Now... for a convention, delaying your luggages even by 1 day would be a little more messy... receiving your costume "after" the con wouldn't be of much use.

TY both yes and no olos... yes it is modified and adjusted to be a custom lightsaber (including adding a "tassle" to each) no it is not entirely built by me - they (both of them) are from the "build your own lightsaber kit"s. soon I wish to actually make full out customs though. going to Lowe's in a day or two lol (sells plumming stuff and whatnot)

ya know - in my defense - they are my design. I actually was talking to one of the people from Star Wars and I gave them the idea for the kit - they never gave me credit but I did tell them (literaly 3 months before they announced it) lol
should the obi/sash be darker? I'm tea-bagging or dying the pants and di.cky but shoud I do that to the belt thing as well?

I like your sash the way it is, but it is really a personnal matter, you might want to change it anyway, you might keep like that. I personally like your choice of colorations.

Costume looks good with the darker tabbords. Tuck your obi ties into the obi then they won't get tangled in the belt.
