Hey there this is Qui-Kel Jinn again some of the council members asked me to relocate this thread so I did, not a problem. I would have never thought that this thread would draw so much attention, it is a very good two sided debate. since, there were so many stong feelings on both sides of the debate, I would like to apologize for anyone that had something said to them that may have been a little out of line. I do appreciate critisism but sometimes it is a little hard on a message board sometimes, the feelings one has are taken a wrong way because you don't hear the way they are saying this. But I would still like to keep this Idea open and maybe still talk about maybe getting an on-line newsletter going. All the input possible would be appreciated. Thank You!

Hello,
I think a monthly news leter would be nice. I also think Jedi in their orders should make additions to it or submit any events that happened in their area to it so we can all get a better feel for what's going on. I have a few other thoughts as well.

I agree. Ky-Wan Zan has a point. Along with the newsletters the members of each order could get info on con's and other activities up coming.

Lol no matter how any time times it's seen my name always causes people to mix it up lol.
Well it would be nice if we could do that as well as offer photos from them. Gives people a person to look for in that area.
Also it would be great to meet more jedi through aol and such and have chats , make us seem more like an organized group with 'council' chats and so forth

I ran a monthly newsletter for just over two years some time ago (for my church singles ministry). It can be a bear getting people to commit to and keep deadlines. It's a great idea, just make sure you get at least two dedicated people to assemble and run it.....probably not Council members (unless they have the time to spend on it). I'd love to see it.

After reading the other thread on this I would think either an online newsletter or an e-mail one would be best if it were to be done. If it were formatted properly it would be able to be printed nicely and read offline if desired. There really is alot of material for such a newsletter. the tutorials and advice in ther forums is a goldmine of article related material....already written....just in need of some editing and formatting. there is, of course, the question of whether a nrewsletter would be appreciated/desired by the membership? It also may be a way to garner more interest in the TJA........... just some errant rambling on a slow night at work......just ignore me.

My old medieval group used to have newsletters and they worked fine. It can always be a subscribe/unsubscribe thing. I think it would be nice to mention new additions to the site as well as members, events. These can also get people intrested in the group an idea of what we do. I'm in contact with a few Jedi here and other places and it's always a blast when I see them in person somewhere

I don't think it was pegged at you to do it, right now it seems to be simply an idea

With an active message forum, and for an internet based group, I wonder if an newsletter would be overkill. The events forum should be enough to cover event planning and such.
The one thing that might be useful is an occassional e-mail announcement that would also indicate whose e-mail address is stil current. But I don't think that would be a priority.
