Yay or Nay? For me, their entire relationship from Ep II onwards was an almost typical Long Distance Relationship... Could that account for Anakin's jealousy of Obi-Wan's friendship with Padme? Why he felt he couldn't open up to her properly, and why their arguments were so fierce? I shall let you all decide... [Edited to add] I feel I ought to mention that my fiance and I met online, but moved to be with each other within 3 months, and have now been together for nearly two years. I feel LDRs only work if one party moves to be with the other, or if one party will be returning after a fixed period. (Forces personell, for example who go away on deployment)

Heh, I was in a LDR that failed, and then another after a year we got engaged and a year later we got married.
Everything works, yuo just always need commitment.

Out of curiousity, before you got engaged, how far apart where you, and how frequently were you able to see each other? I used to live just over 3 hours from my fiance, but moved to the area about three months after we met, so we didn't really spent that long with the distance. I think you're right about commitment being the key factor in any relationship, I think Anakin's problem was that he was a little 'too commited'

We were 3 hours drive (6 by bus) around 300-400 km, forget the actual distance...but we saw eachother about once a month....it was pretty difficult

Ahh, but with millitary life, you at least know where your husband is, what he's doing, where he is etc, there's not the same kind of abiguity that can exist with other LDRs, which is my I made a point to note that above That can't be easy, as I said to Justin, congratulations on making it work

Well it was still hard with it. Pretty much was a LDR... We didn't always talk and it was very hard.
