I wouldn't put it past them to think that. We analaze things too carefully that we'd pick up on the smallest details.

He is...he's outside Palpatine's box at the Opera when Anakin's going in.

Ain't it wierd that we know longer just watch a movie? We watch it and at the same time break it down and look at every little scene. And come on, if lucas puts an Xwing and Tie fighter in the chase scene on corusant in episode 2 you know he is doing it for the diehard fans to find.

Yeah if you look at the very low bottom left corner of the screen while anakin is pretending to crash or when he is hanging on to zams speeder can't remeber you will see the outlines of a tie and xwing.

I think there is also a thread around here somewhere that actually shows the picture. I'll look around.

I don't think the ILM crew would do it on purpose, I think this is just another example of what a poor director Lucas is, that he can't even notice such a glaringly obvious mistake (as when Anakin's sabers 'switched hands', before he dueled with Dooku in ATOC or when obi-Wan's padawan braid was from his left ear because a negative had been reversed in TPM) The fact is, Lucas somehow gets lumped in with great directors like Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg purely because Star Wars is so popular, but the truth is, when it comes to directing, they're way out of his league, and all the time he has a spineless yesman like Rick McCallum as producer, any mistakes he genuinely does miss simply aren't going to get pointed out to him (although in all fairness, any decent director would notice them himself...). I read somewhere that Lucas feels that he has 'the right to fail', because of his past 'achievements', but what that really translates to, is he's a lazy director, who doesn't really care about what he's doing.

I agree. Lucas is a far better visionary than he is a director.
