Luke ALWAYS had more maturity than his father. Even when he's sulking he's still thinking about what he needs to do or change to get over it, what he might have done wrong. Anakin would just sulk about what he wants and smoulder over it.

Luke grew up free, poor, and dreaming of being something more (wanting to find his destiny).
Anakin grew up as 1) a slave then 2) a padawan learner (a slave with perks?/ still not in control of his own destiny), poor, and dreaming of glory.
similar, yet different backgrounds to provide different character traits...............

Something that's been bugging me since I first saw ROTS. Anakin claims that you have to be a Jedi Master to be on the Council... Ki-Adi Mundi has never taken a padawan learner, so is really only a Jedi Knight, yet he is on the Council, as are the two Jedi (not Kit Fisto) that accompany Master Windu to arrest Palpatine. This then leads to a double edged question. Are there two kinds of Jedi Master? One who has successfully trained a padawan to Knighthood and earned the rank of Master (like Qui-Gon had) or a second kind who is simply addressed as Master, because they are on the council (like Ki-Adi Mundi) If this is the case, is this why when Anakin goes into the Council chamber, the youngling calls him Master Skywalker? Either way, by being on the Council Anakin should have been called Master, even if he wasn't given the Rank of Master, he would have gained the Title of Master, so what was he getting so worked up about? Ki Adi Mundi did train a Padawan. In th Expanded Universe. His name was A'Sharad Hett. He was a Tusken Raider. His father was a rogue jedi who went to live on Tatooine. When his father died A'Sharad Hett was trained by Ki Adi Mundi. Just be cause we have not heard of a Particular master Training a padawan does not mean they have not. For along time everyone thought Obi Wan didn't attain the rank of master. Even the database at Starwars.com said so, Yet we saw in ROTS that he did. For more on A'Sharad Hett go to: www.jedidirectory.com/AsharadHett.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/A'Sharad_Hett

From wikipedia....
Plo Koon was always humble and felt there were many others more qualified than he was to serve on the Council, notably his friend Qui-Gon Jinn. Plo was also a close friend of fellow Council member Micah Giett. After Giett was killed by Yinchori warriors, Koon took over the training of his padawan, Bultar Swan.
According to this, Plo Koon trained Butler Swan after Micah Giett was killed.

just remember you cant always trust wikipedia. alot of the information on there is put on there by people like you and me and joe schmo. So make sure that you double check the infor before turning it to gospel. Many a time i have had students use wikipedia for information that was just blatantly wrong.

true and I do cross reference with other info so know whats right and whats wrong on there. The other two jedi that went with windu to arrest palpatine where agen kolar He fought on Geonosis and survived in the battle's end, though his young Padawan Tan Yuster, did not. and Saesee Tiin he held the title of Jedi Master, even though he had according to the Expanded Universe never been known to take a Padawan learner—a testament to his skill as a Jedi and starfighter pilot they are both masters

When Anakin was wanting the rank of master there was an Archivist (and probably library minions, too) to tell him that he was not allowed to get at the holocrons without the rank of master, regardless of his skills with the Force.
When Luke attained the rank of master, all the archivists had been dead for decades, so it was only his own skill that gave him access to the holocrons. I assume that the had his father's amazing natural skill with the Force and only needed a little practice to use the holocrons.

Well even with the skills the holocrons that Luke found would only give him informations when it deemed himself ready. so there was still stuff that was on there that was being held back to Luke

Right so luke could only learn at the pace that the holocron would let him

The holochrons were likely built to respond to Subtleties in the accessors Force use and guage the level of mastery by it to obtain info from them.

I think so too. It makes sense. That way a student couldn';t learn something that was too far advanced which could in turn lure them to the darkside?? It's a possibility and besides the holocrons were clererly built

Yeah, the novel far surpasses the movie in this regard. In the book it explains how Anakin's desperation to become a Master is not just because he's arrogant and wants credit; its because of saving Padme, he really didnt care about the other stuff. He would have left the order straight away if it were not for his dreams.
