So, how long was Yoda channeling Qui-Gon before he told Obi-Wan about it in ROTS? Presumably, Yoda got a clue about it in AOTC when he heard Qui-Gon's voice attached to Anakin's pain. But was he more firmly connected to Qui-Gon when he was giving advice to Anakin in ROTS? Had Yoda specifically become an advisor to Anakin because of it? And even though Yoda had a line on Qui-Gon, it still didin't seem to give him any more insight into who the Sith Lord was.

In the ROTS novelization it wasn't that long. Right after he failed to defeat Palpy, Yoda heard Qui-Gon talking about becoming one with the Force and became his student

I did see something online about them showing the ROTS deleted scene about them founding the Rebellion at ComiCon, so there's some hope for the Yoda-talking-to-Qui-Gon scene showing up.

Actually the Asteroid is not the first time that Yoda speaks to Qui Gon through the Force... *opens up the ROTS book to page 409*
"...As it sometimes had these past thirteen years, when the Force spoke to him, it spoke in the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn..."

But Yoda never realized that it actually WAS Qui-Gon Jinn until he was meditating on the asteroid? That mean's it's possible, I suppose, that Obi-Wan could have gotten the same thing. He never would have notice "hearing" Qui-Gon's voice in his thoughts. He would have just thought it was memory when it actually was Qui-Gon hiding in the thought-noise weeds of the Force all along.
Well, we always knew Qui-Gon was a bit of a rebel. He just took it a lot further than anyone expected.
