Ooooh, that does sound like good news! I hope it turns out to be the lesser two problems. But I'd hold out for a really good explanation about how diabetes could be mistaken for MS. Aren't the symptoms for the two very different?

But I'd hold out for a really good explanation about how diabetes could be mistaken for MS. Aren't the symptoms for the two very different? Yes and No ... both cause weakness of limbs and numbness in legs and feet. Both also can cause vision issues. Also both show up as lesions in the brain, but on different levels and sizes ... MS mimics many diseases and many radiologist will miss read the MRIs ... A neurologist must have the final say. With that being said, we are doing all the testing to rule MS out. She took the glucose test yesterday to check for the diabetes.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Yes, that does sound like good news!
MS does indeed mimic many different diseases, though I didn't know that diabetes could also cause lesions in the brain. When my brother was first tested for MS, It seemed like they tested him for every possible disease. They basically ruled out everything else before giving him the diagnosis of MS.
If Danine does have diabetes, I hope that she is diagnosed with Type II (non-insulin dependent). Good luck, and I hope you get good news on Monday!

A message from Danine.
Well Friends, I have good news, all of the tests came back negative. I do NOT have Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lyme disease. My glucose test was a bit high at the end of the tolerance test, but my Dr. said he would have expected that from someone like me with metabolic syndrome. I am going to begin Physical Therapy on my back. The inflammation and pain is down. I am still having numbness and tingling in my feet and toes, but it is lessening, so I hope with the therapy it will get better. I go back on the June 8th about the ovarian cyst. So I just wanted to thank every one for their thoughts and prayers! I know that having so many people praying for me, has helped this outcome. Dr. Morgan even told me today that he had been praying for me! Because I haven't had any more incidences like what happened in Feb & Mar. He thinks that the disk must have ruptured more to cause all of that additional pain and the lack of feeling everywhere on the lower half of my body. The Neurologist, Dr. Fodor, is going to repeat the brain MRI in 6 months, but no spinal tap, thank- God! So we will keep on top of things, but they are looking up. I went ahead a took a job with the Colorado Renaissance Festival. I hope it doesn't kill me ! I will be playing one of the street characters, "Silly Sybil the Singing Strumpet." I will do singing telegrams and such about the kingdom. It should be fun. But it is a lot of hours on my feet. But it is only weekends through July. My mom said it best when she said, "You are just happier when you are doing theatre!" So thanks again for all of your love and support and prayers! I know I wouldn't be sharing this good news without it! Take Care! Love, Danine

Here comes another one... My sister and her little 9-month old boy really need prayer right now. I can't give you many details for safety issues, but here goes. Thursday we got a call from someone that, due to the advice of Mental Health services, both of them were taken to a shelter for battered women. Both of my parents were petrified, as they couldn't get much more info than that until last night, when my sister was finally able to call. At this point, it looks like her husband is the culprit. She doesn't want to go back to him and wants a restraining order filed. My entire family needs prayer; my sister and her baby for safety, her husband's family for realizing the truth, and my parents for peace. I'll try to give as many updates as I can.

Ant situation like that is very scary ... I housed a friend from spousal abuse for about 3 weeks ... I understand ... reaching out through the Force to surround them with love.
