Second book of the series is out. I just picked it up. But I am mildly concerned that Jude Watson stole my back story! The backstory that has been posted on the main site since I joined TJA!
What the back of the book says: "Obi-Wan and Yoda are not the only Jedi to have survived the Emperor's annihilation of the Order. There is at least one other... and he is hiding in the caves of Ilum, a place where nightmares become reality and dark warnings tell of conflicts yet to come."
What my back story says: "At the time Anakin Skywalker fell to the Dark Side and started the extermination of the Jedi, I was in the caves of Ilum with my Padawan at that time, Shan D'lar, creating her lightsaber. Feeling the deaths of so many through the Force, we were weakened and stunned. Unable to gather the Force around us enough to fight, we sought refuge in the caves. Shan D'lar eventually succumbed to the visions in the cave; the shadows and visions of all she had known being destroyed enveloped her. I stayed in the caves and studied and learned from the drawings on the walls of Jedi past. I finally emerged from the caves to find all I had known destroyed. The great Temple was gone. My colleagues gone."
Hmmm....
Seriously I am a huge Jude Watson fan, as you can tell

Wow! I remember when you posted that Carol! Y'know I don't doubt that authors cruise the internet for story ideas.
I'll have to look for that book tomorow

Ooooooo... I don't know abou tthe end of the book. It sound slike the series may go on without an important character, although I'm sure he'll show up now and again to keep interest up. Don't think I like that idea, though

I will have to go and get these, don't know how I missed them, but neither of them were in the store the last time I went in search of books, 1 must have been sold out & 2 not released yet. Arrrh! Will see if I can get them for the plane before I go to Cleveland this weekend. I'll need something to read.

I do too.
I picked up the Scholastic versions of the OT novels "collector's ediiton" hardback as well, but they are by Ryder Windham. He's okay. The one I really don't like is Elizabeth Hand.

I am so far behind in the books that i prety much have given up. I think that authors do go and collect our story ideas. Makes me wonder if I should copy-write the one I started....

One thing about the Scholastic Jedi books is that they read fast. I have no problem keeping up with them.
Read Last of the Jedi 2 last weekend. I like the Obi-Wan story, but it's a pity that it looks like he won't be there for the rest of the "Last" series, or if he is, it will be minimal. Poor Garen! He may or may not make it, but Ferus is obviously going to be doing the action. I question Obi-Wan's decision not to tell him about Vader/Anakin. Perhaps the information would be a dangerous distraction, but you'd think that Ferus would want to know that the second-most evil guy in the galaxy just might have a personal grudge against him. OTOH, I'd be really, really curious if Ferus would recognize Vader if he ever got close enough. If he doesn't, then Obi-Wan's holding back on the info may be justified.
It would be nice if there were another special edition with the different characters at different points in their lives. This time it would include Anakin as Vader and Obi-Wan on Tatooine.

Not the scholastic series. It would be nice if at some point they put all of them into a hardcover... like Jedi Apprentice... all in one or two volumes.
Last of the jedi 3 is out on shelves too, btw... It's mostly about Ferus and that kid Trever... I have not read it yet.

I think that the Scholastic books do come in "library editions", which I think are hardback. But you can't buy them in the stores. And some of the special edition "Apprentice" and "Quest" books only come in hardback.
