I read the Ep II novel before I saw the movie...don't think I should have done that, but I just couldn't resist! Did anyone else do this and regret it?

I Couldn't read it before the movie came out, because I didn't have it yet.
Ryss: You haven't read it yet?! You have to read it, it's Really really good!

Nahh, it's not in the style I like--getting within the person's thoughts, like close-up third person or even first person. It's more just what it is--a book version of the movie, outsiders looking in...*shrugs*

I hear you on that one, left to myself, I'll read rather than eat. I always wait until I've seen the film, before I read the book, I like to be spoiler free.

I caved. I read the book first and wished I hadn't for Ep. 2. I fell into a big pit of spoilers for EpII and wished I hadn't. I really feel it ruined the movie for me. So I'm trying to stay spoiler free til Episode III but it's HARD...

Yeah, well I knew I couldn't resist reading it.. I knew I would, and I have to say I'm glad I did. Unlike the novelization of AotC, this one gets inside their heads... what it feels like to be Anakin Skywalker (1st person, like Stover did in Shatterpoint)... before and after turning to the dark side, and he puts you inside of Mace and Obi-Wan. Its deep, very deep, and it has only heightened my anticipation for the movie! This book is loaded with POV and feelings, and there are battle scenes that I know are in the movie but Stover totally left them out. He's delt with the emotion of it all, and the battles are secondary.

I have read every Starwars Book before I saw the Movies ... I found it helped fill in the blanks that always seem to be in movies

Well until EP II, I always waited until after I saw the movie to read the book. With EP II, I decided to read the book before I saw the movie and didn't regret it. I too found it helped fill in the blanks. I am also planning on reading ROTS before I see the movie. I don't know why but for some reason, I want to be prepared for this one.

I would never read anything that reveals the entire movie. I've read little tidbits here and there and see the new pictures that are released but I never want the entire movie spoiled for me.

I won't read the book until I've seen the movie once. After that, I'll read it and then seen the movie again.
I've bought a couple of the related books (Making Of, Visual Dictionary, etc) but am avoid looking at them.
I've seen and read a lot but there are a couple plot details I do not want to know before the movie.

I'm struggling with this choice, too, at the moment, and really, after having a major plot point spoiled for me by reading a review on Amazon.com, I'm even more skiddish at the idea of reading this. I've done everything that I can to catch up in the precious few days before the film with regard to the Clone Wars material, primarily the animated series and a few of the novels, and even though I'm going to read all the way through to Labyrinth of Evil, I don't think I'm going to read ROTS. I know where the film ends up, but I just don't think I want to ruin how it gets there for myself. Of course, given the number of even minor spoilers I've read...

I would read the book first and did for Eps I and II. I did have a copy of the first novelization in 1977 before the movie but I can't remember reading it, being nine years old.
This time I know so many spoilers I could probably quote the film without even seeing it. It doesn't bother me since seeing it is still awesome...
