Greetings WHitewookie, What patterns would you like? Jedi under/iver tunics, Obis, Tabbords or over robes. OR all of the above?

Greetings WhiteWookie, welcome to the group. Since Simplicity & McCall's are not available in the UK here's the stuff to look for in your local sewing supply store. Look in the costume section of the pattern catalogue for any type of Ninja/Karate costume, these are the easiest to adapt to Jedi tunics, under tunics are the same, but in lighter fabrics. The big robe is usually easy to adapt from a basic Wizard type pattern. You can make the tabbards easily from long straight strips of fabric and the obi sash is pretty much the same way. Let me look for the spewcific treads to refer you to for easy to follow directions. How well do you sew? Begginner, Intermediate or Pretty experienced? I will return to this post in a few minutes, I've gone to search threads. To check the patterns that we use most often go to the Simplicity & McCall websites and check the patterns by # it will make it easier to find comparable patterns that are available to you.

Hiya Wookie. As a native Englishman I can state that Simplicity patterns are available in the UK. Any Beatties store or even a largeish Debhenhams will tock Simplicity patterns. Also most shops that actually sell material and/or sewing machines etc will stock them too. Ive also seen them on Market trader stalls in the middle of bot Mansfield and Northampton (but that be just a more northern phenomenon as I didnt at Cambridge).
I cant recall seeing any McCalls though. You will however have more trouble finding alot of the materials used, especially at reasonable prices. I paid a fair amount for the material for my costume with the brown wool being the most expensive as I couldnt find it at any normal retail type outlet. I eventually bought that material from a re-enactors market which meant that while being perfect for the look it cost an arm and a leg. If I had to do it again though I would as the end look and feel/drape certainly was worth it.
Where about are you in the UK ?

Okay, well!!!! I can easily enough do the Jedi Food Capsules, i've made a dual ended lightsaber from a converted fishing rod (evan if it looks bad), and i've evan made myself a padawan braid!!! But the costume is a big anoying void. I kinda need the whole kitten kaboodle. I've got a couple of things i've heard of that I need: Robe: Simplicity #7438 Outer tunic/inner tunic: Simplicity #9834 Tabards: I heard theres one that covers it all: Simplicity #5840 Because i live in the a small town, we dont have huge stores with materials and patterns. So if anyone has any spare versions of these and can send them my way, i'd be grateful Also if people can get hold of em i'd pay for em and someone could send them to me!! Thanks!!!!!! Oh yeah, and i live in Exmouth, thats down South West in devonshire OOAR

Ohh England!!! I've been to Birmingham, London and Avon uponStraford. LOVE the tea. English people are awesome. The country is so full of hisorty, I saw a 1,000 year old building (a pub) still in active use. Get a hold of that! I miss their tea, their coffee chocoalte, and those wonderful biscuits. . . Earl Grey from the regular grocery store for 99 pence. <sighs> ::Going through English tea and busicuit withdrawls:: :-)

Wookie, I'll look that up and see what I can do. Are you far from Portsmouth, they might have a fabric store that would have a better selection. But all other things aside, your local store could probably special order it for you, as long as they carry Simplicity patterns.
