Actually after lots of frustration, and freeze framing many parts of all of the trailers to episode III, I am convinced they are Dickies work pants, (at least Anakin's are); however, I was told that the pants used in Episode I and II are indeed riding pants...(notice the almost invisible seam you wont find on commercial storebrands) . After trusting my source, I finally invested in a pair, and their as close as you'll possibly get. Good luck, let me know how that works out for you

The pants look alot softer and they hang in a different way than "dockers" would. Looks like a kind of silk to me oh by the way, di ckie

I have ordered the Special Edition book...which is not due out until October...and even when it is released....there is no guarantee what fabric samples will actually be included...obviously...not all of them will be included.....I am hoping some of the Jedi stuff will be in there.....I am really interested in the robe fabric.....

Yeah, I ordered the special edition book, too. I suppose if enough of us ordered it, we're bound to get some Jedi fabric samples between us.

just a thought and observation. Deva Lifewear sells clothing (some even for men) that is well made, all cotton, comes in a variety of weaves and colors, and might fit the bill for pants, shirts, etc. I ordered from them maaaaany moons ago and only recently had to get rid of the items since I outgrew them in ways not easy to hide. They were easily my favorite! I think they may even sell bolts.

Yes, I've often posted links to Deva products. Most of their pants are uni-sex. Some have gussets in the crotch for more movement (think martial arts). They wear FOREVER. I have several products that I've worn and washed every week for 10 years and they look fine. They cost a bit more but the durability is worth it. www.devalifewear.com/

So today I went out scouring stores to find a close matching set of pants. Dockers didn't come close to the colour I thought looked right. Neither did any in-store knock off brands. Dockers are a little too stiff anyway, and the seam on the outside of the leg is too prominent. In a Zeller's store (Canada's equivalent of Target) I found a discontinued brand of golfer's pants- Wilson Ultra brand. The pants were polyester; much softer than Dockers. Seams were minimal in appearance. There were khakis, whites, olives, and a brownish colour that looked pretty close. And they were $35 bucks. But they didn't have my size. So I ended up going to all four Zellers's in my city- either they didn't have the brownish colour, or they didn't have my size. It figures it would be a brand that is on clearance and won't be re-stocked. GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Frustrated, tired and desperate- I wandered into Sears. I ended up buying a pair of dress pants that are a polyester/lycra blend. Colour was as close as I figured I was going to find. I'll post a pic later.

Okay; I found some! Goodwill have some very nice twill-type ladies' stetch pants at a very low price and they fit perfectly, so I got them! Unfortunately, I didn't wait for a look at my particular characters' trouser color, so now I'm stuck with a pale tan when what I need is brown! Anyoen know if twill take dye very well?
