ARGH! The bookshelf where I had about 1/3 of my collection displayed collapsed yesterday! Nerf had some large books on the very top and the weight of them collpased it when he was doing some cleaning. Most of my MOC figures are no longer MOC and a few I had to remove completely from their cardbacks .. and of course that's a hard thing with a ten-year-old who now thinks there are "new toys" for him to play with! (I gave him a couple to trey to keep him away from teh ones I really want to keep). And also I had to put most of them away in a crate since I now have no where to display them.

bump
sorry i had to bring this back, cause this just sucks and noone but myself said anything....how rude people.
im sorry you lost your collection though, that would irritate me a bit if a bunch of books crushed a collection of mine....(too bad i dont have one yet....*sigh*...one of these days) i hope you find some way to replenish your collection.

THe horror of it all........
I have my figures hanging on the wall around my PC desk. My son has his own collection and leaves mine alone...or ELSE mwhahaha.....
the crate may be the best thing for keeping their value in the future....

All the shelves were full of SW stuff except the top shelf and the extreme top. It was the stuff on the extreme top that did it. Several LARGE hardback books. It was a cheap bookshelf but I had hoped it would lat longer than it did.
Luckily none of my "good" stuff got smashed and pretty much everything is salvagable, just some will have to be taken out of the packages. My really good stuff I have on the piano and a few on the wall of teh computer room

sometimes even damaged but intact packaging is better than "loose". it may be worth keeping them packaged....for now.

Actually it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Nothing severely damaged, just some cards bent and bubbles on cards ripped. I've freed a lot of them now and am in the process of hanging cards on the walls to (hopefully) prevent another disaster

I haven't been in this forum in awhile, sorry that happened, I know how you feel, a huge chunk of my sewing room cieling came down last week, and made a mess of some stuff, including some fabrics I was planning to use for a robe.
