I think I was up to early today, I'm ready to fall asleep. Well I'll have a little time to myself for the next couple of weeks, the theatre is dark while they load out the last show and load in the next one which opens on Jan 29th. I am contemplating doing a bit of magic at the MSR Coronation event, just to practice and also to help with the stage fright problem, as I will be doing my Magic act in the Talent Show at the Queen convention in the UK this spring, eeekkk, it's in front of a couple of thousand people I will have to come up with a couple of things that are more medieval in nature, with my luck, they'll try me as a witch and burn me at the stake. LOL! Only Kidding, just have to be a vagrant and jongluer.

I know you will come up with something Nova...I have complete confidence that we will not lose you to a burning at the stake...
....I am really excited...the wool that I ordered on-line came yesterday...it is a "wool flannel" ...100% wool...in a gorgeous dark brown.....10 yards....it is for my final robe...I also cut out my "final" tunic...flaring it out a little from the waist...
I hope this will be the set of garb that I am finally happy with....sigh....
I also made a set of bracers out of fake leather...my machine won't do real leather...they came out kinda cool....
once again...our costumes are ever evolving....

Good morning and Merry Christmas to my {older} sisters. I don't have to cook Christmas dinner today for the first time in umpteen years...lol... My youngest son and his girlfriend are cooking for me... I do have to make sweet potatoes and green bean casserole and a pumpkin pie....which I thought I had bought 6 cans of beans and ended up with only buying two! So I am hoping the Winn Dixie is open this morning for goof ups like me....LOL.... If I had been making the whole dinner, I wouldn't have forgotten... My daughter just asked me where the stuff for the pumpkin pie is.....S*** ....oh well, Like I said...I hope the Winn Dixie is open....

well, It is now Jan, 31. Man this month went by fast.....Anything exciting going on? I finally got to putting Emerita's story in the fan fic section if anyone is intrested. Schph gave me good reviews..lol. I spent this morning rereading and enjoying her's...
I'm hungry and I don't want to get out and go to the store to shop. It is a cool 49 degrees today and it is supposed to rain. Wish I had a fireplace to sit in front of....I'll have one next year ;D

If it was 49 deg. here I'd be SO HAPPY! I'm really tired of this cold. It's supposed to warm up a little this week, but of course then it's going to rain. BLECH! I want SPRING! That groundhog better not go back in his hole on Mon. or I'm going hunting.

lol.....cold....we laugh at the cold! Acutally...and I can't believe this either...yesterday I sponsored my 10th Annual "Frozen Bu*ts" workday with my restoration group....can you believe 30 hardy souls (most of them in their 50's...some in their 60's and one lady who is 82 years young) came out in minus 16 degree windchills to do prairie restoration? We hiked and worked out in the cold for 4 hours...then we had a big pot luck dinner at the Environmental Learning Center...which...guess what...the furnace was not working! But...the 30 bodies and crock pots provided plenty of warmth...... but....I am getting tired of winter.....my house is old and drafty...so I keep the thermostat below 60 degrees in the house.....at night it is only around 50 degrees....lol...good way to keep one's body preserved....

Actually...the human body does burn twice the calories to keep warm than it does to cool off....... ;D

Yes, you just lose weight trying to keep warm at the antarctic station, my cousin used to do duty tours there and it's true, they have to eat a lot to maintain body weight. I think I'd rather keep the weight than be that cold all the time.

Well, Xana and I dragged out to go to the Valentines Revel, but it wasn't there, so I guessed the notification that the site was moved missed me, but well the won't get a chance to burn me at the stake for a while now. I have to email them and find out where it was. We went back to the city & shopped and did dinner and went to LOTR and came here to the I-cafe for a few minutes.

....greetings fellow old timers....I too had a confusing weekend.... Friday night I threw my cross country skis into my truck...a crock pot full of vegetarian chili and went to the Forest Preserve Dist of Will Co "Winter Gathering"...it was supposed to be volunteers (me) and staff....well...when I got there ...it was all staff....I felt out of place...plugged in my crock pot and went out skiing in the dark along the service roads through this unfamilar site....it was very interesting....
Saturday morning I took my truck for its emission test...the catalytic converter is starting to break apart..so I thought it would fail the test and I would have to come up with $600.00 for a new converter...surprise...it passed....then I took a look for Star Wars figures....found none....went home and did the usual house cleaning, laundry, and started to work on a talk I have to give on Native Prairie plants....going through my slides and writing script...
Sunday morning...out the door to the friend of a friend who is a tailor and is making my Imperial Officer jacket...when last I saw her...she took my measurements...some photos of the SW imperial officers...I had the correct fabric to match my already done hat....and when I went for a fitting yesterday...I literally cried ...it is that gorgeous! She then marked the hems and stuff and I should have it before I leave for Film Con on Friday morning....the only question is will the pants be done....
Then straight from there to my Chicago Force "Black Sun" Collector group meeting...well...that aren't actually meetings....we just bs about Star Wars and last night we listened to #2 in the Star Wars Radio dramas... I learned the correct pronunciation of Tantiv V.....
now...back to work....sigh....

actually....you can have mine.....
somewhere in the last 12 years I have completely buried myself in volunteer stuff....and all sorts of stuff....I would actually like to chill out instead of running each day like a marathon....
