I guess I should feel honored that on ths thread I am concidered to be a Youngling ;D but sure feel older than I ever plan on getting at times!
Anyways! I hope the store I will be working at allows employees to dress up for Halloween. I, of course, will be in my garb (yea I can finally wear it!). And since I live no where close to anyone who might be a Stormtrooper (besides a Rubies costume), my son and I will go out trick-or-treating as Jedi. Even my nerf-herding hubby is thinking about trying to fit into my extra long tunic and throw on a pair of khakis and one of my son's toy lightsabers. (Can't believe he would actually do this... ah hah! I have converted him to the Power ofthe Light Side!)

lol....this old lady will be in Jedi garb for the annual "Children's Costume Parade" in downtown Chicago on October 18th (along with Amber) ...we will be marching with the local 501st and Rebel Legion...then later that night, a local Symphony group will be doing John Williams music...so we will head to Berwyn to do the "lobby thing" in costume for a little "atmosphere"....I am really looking forward to it....
;D

I think it will be great fun...I just hope it doesn't rain...or we will all look like Obi-Wan on Kamino.....
...which reminds me...gotta get out the tunic and shorten it a little...the new one I sewed right before Wizard World is a tad too long....

LOL....I am fixing to leave for this job in a few minutes. I have next Saturday off and I work the following. It appears that they not only changed my working hours, but they added every other Sat! I now have no guilt about quitting and going to this other job closer to home with NO weekends...lol Then maybe I can come up and play Jedi sometime! ;D

Wow, It has been a long time since I've gotten to time to read down to this thread, so Em, how did that interview go? Hope you're in a better situation now! In the middle of Halloween I got a new theatre job. I have the same position as at the old theatre, but it's so nice to be appreciated. They treat us very well there, though in some ways it's a tougher job, in others it's much easier to do, mostly because of the attitude there. So now I'm at the Biltmore Theatre, it's smaller, and has just been completly restored and modernised, it's really beautiful. They keep talking about expanding the Halloween store, so that might get interesting as well, the corporate partner keeps saying that I'll get a sewing room and will be able to design the high end stuff I like to do and custom work as well, we'll see, he's good at talking but.........! Well gotta go, it's closing time. Hope you got a new job that you really like, and better hours and pay as well.

I was so surprised to see a notification for this thread! ;D I was looking for it the other week and couldn't find it...lol Well, I got the job and I really like it. Alot of perks that are amazing. I do envy you in your job though because going into acting and theater work was what I wanted to do but my Dad had other plans, then came my husband and he had his plans also, so I was pushed to the wayside, so I am making do...but with this job I can have a life now! So that is great.... I guess there is some happiness out there for us collectibles after all ;D ;D ;D

Acting, what a scary thought, I'm good but have a bad time with stage fright, I work in the front of the house, so they pay me to watch the show, not a bad job either. Glad you got the job you wanted and that it's going well. It's so much nicer when you can enjoy where you work. Gotta go, closing time.

Acting...yes....scarry....
but doing programs for the Master Gardeners and having to get up to speak to crowds has helped me with my "stage fright"....but ....it still does make me nervous....I don't think that is something that one ever outgrows.....Movies would be better...ya get to do things over again if you screw up....

yeah, and you do it on a closed set, with only a few people. I finally got over my stage fright at singing in front of people, but when I am embarrassed I still blush. Wish I could make that go away.......lol
