Tow Mater! I cannot believe no one has said anything about this post! Score one for Jedi-mom.... Even though I was half expecting it with the discussion on tomatoes and the movie siting on my entertainment center it still got me! ......OH, and............ what was this thread originally about? I forgot.

LOL......I got it but just didn't say anything. This thread originally started out as a place for the older chicks to talk. We have broadened it to everyone now. All us older chicks are the real Star Wars Collectibles....(I didn't want to say Antiques...LOL...)

goodnight Collectibles...... good night Em... Gotta be up early....10,000 things to do tomorrow.. and one of them is... canning tomatoes....lol... yet another indication that I am a "collectible"...I don't think many people at all know how to...or do canning anymore...

G'night! And Schph -- I know how to can. Will be bottling ketchup with my sis after D*C lol....cool beans Carol! Canning is a lost art... and something I always remember from my childhood... it was a fall tradition to help out with the canning... Mom would make chili, spaghetti...etc.. all winter from the tomatoes we canned in late August/early September. Where I haven't even used all of last years quarts...I still feel the "need" to can in the fall....and...this year my tomato crop is pretty good...so I imagine I should have a pretty good number of quarts put up this morning... I made jelly a couple weeks ago from the chokecherries from my tree/shrub....but just like my mom...sucess was "iffy"...it is a bit thin...Mom always had trouble with jelly...either it was like concrete ..or it was runny...

My sister married a farmer -- an old-style farmer at that -- so I can with her every year. Not much this year since the drought kinda messed up her garden, but we are doing ketchup and it is GOOD STUFF! I hate eating store-bought anymore since I am so used to the stuff we make.

...mornin' Collectibles.... ....have a few things to do today and I guess I better get started...... see ya later...... We used to can veggies ever summer and eat them all winter. we had a pantry that was just for canned food. It was big like a walk in closet....man, I miss those days. My sister Judy still has a garden and cans every summer.......

You have been busy, Schph! I've been sewing, but I am alas nowhere near getting the Endor trooper done, so I won't have that for DragonCon. I got distracted by a different costume thing and then there are those pesky repairs and stuff.

I have moved on to the Hoth costume now...but I have to admit ...Hoth is going to be the toughest ever... I can't seem to get a really good feel for the elements of the jacket/vest/outerwear thing... there appears to be three layers...and I can't get a really good look at them.
