Road trips I can do. I have driven over ten thousand miles in my lifetime...lol, I have never been to a Con this big before, so I don't know what to do first...so I will definitely need to follow someone around...lol....... between you and schph, I have it covered now. As long as I can find the bathroom and the way back to our room, I'm good... ;D

Ok No prob. Big cons I DO know. :-)
I've traveled loads fo miles to, I jsut don't know how many. <Scratches chin> Been to LA twice, NYC twice, Washington State(Seattle) Alaska, Nebraska, kansas, Misssorui, Carcuss Venezula, England(twice), and Canada twice. Some were road trips some flights. Man I wonder if I can cash all those miles in. :-) :-D
First thing is get your tickets in advance as soon as possible, Chepaer. THen find out when they open early registraition. It might be Thursday night, Get there ASAP. heaven knos the last thing you'll want is to be in line for 4+ hours at the start of it all. ;-)
Another tip carry an FRS radio around to keep in contact with your group IF you wanted to do that. I have a couple fo recharble ones I can bring those. Then we can keep in contact with the Fantables any of us are volunteering with. I 'm positive this con will have some manner of map.

I wish the weather would straighten out a little here so I could get some more fitness walking in...we only had snow enough for me to get cross country skiing in twice......I still do my Tai Chi...some fitness tapes...and of course my prairie workdays on Saturdays....but I REALLY would like to get some more walking in before CIII....maybe March will be better...February has been the pitts...

It's snowing here again, and they said that it's going to sleet & rain all day tomorrow on top of that, YUCK! I wonder does the Embassy have a pool & a hot tub, that was the best at the end of DCon, and then we crashed like the dead, slept great after that, but it also helped with all the muscle aches etc. Must check, if so, bring the Jedi swimwear.

I'll be leaving Monday too when you do.....
What you two need is the Tony Little "Gazelle"...I bought one and I get on it for 20 minutes every afternoon when I get home from work.. It is low impact on the joints. It takes up very little space and is very light and folds flat...I love mine. Your muscles really feel it when you get off of it... it gets your heart rate up without your feet hurting... it is about $100.00 retail. I bought mine new from a friend for $50.00. I bet they are on E-Bay for cheap.... This was the best $50.00 investment I have ever made. When I first got it, I could only do about two minutes on it! Now I am up to 30 minutes...and I go about 2 1/2 miles... not bad for 30 minutes. When I use to walk, I would walk 2 miles in 50 minutes. This is way better and much easier...and it is definitely working. I have lost 22 pounds in a month and 1/2.... I should be able to keep up with everyone at CIII. I even have a broken bone in my foot and doing this is not painful like walking outside.

I have, for the past 2 weeks, been using it 30 minutes a night, every night and an extra walk on Saturday and Sunday. I had to build up to 30 minutes though since I am out of shape. I started at 2 minutes and added 2 minutes each time. I watch TV while I do it and that keeps my mind off of what I am doing, making the time go faster..... I have a feeling I am not going to be as "thin" as I want to be though by the time I leave.....lol....but I do want to be able to walk around all day long without getting tired.

My airwalker is scheduled to be delivered tonight... I didn't get in as much cross country skiing this winter...we really didn't have snow stick around long enough...I did get out about three times and was surprised that I actually didn't do too badly...but ...the older we continue to get...the harder everything seems to get....it will be interesting to see how long I can do it on the first try....and yes....since I hate what I call mindless exercise (you don't go anywhere, see anything, or accomplish anything other than sweating...lol...)...TV will have to be on....otherwise I will be bored instantly....

The futon in the Star Wars room is always available...
and my "air walker" was delivered last night....I was on it a little while....but was really tired from a very busy weekend...
The weather is supposed to get really nasty again this week...so I can foresee time spent on the air walker each night...
