Orion Knight-star to Jedi Temple
On October 4, 2012, I had the honor to go to visit West View Elementary School Star Wars Reading Day. Arriving at 10:30AM and meet up with our brother and sisters in the 501st Legion's Mid south Garrison Mos Nooga Squad. I change very fast for I got there right before the event started because of a prior engagement. After getting my Jedi costume all the costumers proceeded to head to the six different classrooms. After we stepped inside the classroom the faces of awe was all over the faces of each of the classrooms. For when we enter each of the classroom the teacher allowed the students to ask questions. The younglings were very inquisitive and they wanted to know a lot. The children wanted to know about my light saber so I held it while each child looked and touch the button to activated it. I keep the emitter cover so no child would be blinded by the beam of light, which would not be good if they were blinded by the light of the light saber. However, the Jedi was very popular. After we answer questions in each of the class those of us who had cards we pass them out and many of the children asked if we would autograph them, and I was more then happy to sign my cards for the young ones. Around 12:15 PM we concluded our visit and the school gave us a free lunch. A huge thank you to the forth grade teachers, staff, and students of West View Elementary School for allowing us into their school to bring Star Wars to Life for these younglings. We were also videoed by one of the local news stations once it airs I will place the video up.
