We seem to be nuts with events around here...I could probably do 3 a week ....each week ...if I had the time and the $$ to spend on gas... I have another event this coming Sunday...and another on Halloween in the evening for the Chicago Blackhawks...
I usually don't wear a costume on Halloween...it is my day off...
lol...

My R2 was my navigator.... ;D See if he can boost the power and help save on gas. Great job! Our "Making Strides" is this coming Saturday in Atlanta... I'm actually doing it with my alumnae group. We have 3 survivors from this past year.

Awesome Kryy....
It is a great experience to do "Making Strides"...to remember those lost and give support to those battling...
and I will see what R2 can do about boosting that power...
;D

Wow! Wow! Oh did I say WOW! What a great event this was. The City loved all the characters that came. With over 4,000 kids and adults this was a very successful event. The City was gracious to increase their stage and expanded their seating. Plus, placed the volunteers in the center of the street to get maximum flow. The JedI assembly lightsaber presentation was wonderful and well received. All the costume volunteers took tons of pictures of star wars loving kids and parents. They have invited us back again next years. So major props go to all of the volunteer who made this the best one ever! Volunteers: Jedi Assembly: Rob jedi Jen Jedi 501st: Darrin as Vader Jim as Bob David TK Steve Tk Al Darth Raven (Saber Master Himself) Rebel Legion: Victor Jedi Rob pilot Judy pilot Cindy Leia Her father no not Vader but Chris as RFT Thanks again and I hope all of you had a blast as I did. Rob Here is our show www.youtube.com/watch?v=LThDICTqjfk

I love seeing these photos and hearing about all of the different ways everyone is involved! Have we ever thought about moving this to the "public" forum or starting something new there? i know we have the gallery at the main page, but maybe we could put Mission Photos in the Events Area of the main forum, in its own section... maybe even by month or something. Large Scale Events C4 Mission Photos or something.... I just want these to STAND OUT!! There is such a variety... charity events, parades, Clone Wars releases of various sorts... it's a shame to "hide" all of this cool stuff when we could be enticing, motivating, encouraging new people to want to get their costumes ready and get involved so they can participate in all of these neat events. My two credits.... I love seeing these and I think potential members would too! [BTW, it seems the link to the main page is missing at the top of the forum... is it me, or has it disappeared?]

I am not sure that there ever was a link to our main boards here... I do know that there is a link at the main boards to get here...
but... not vice-versa...
I agree that maybe this should have been in the Public area...
I will have to ask if this thread can be moved...

The link was only visible if you were "Home" but it flashed www.thejediassembly.com up at the top of the forum, below the banner bar and ad... maybe in the blank part of the "Forum Name" line. It would be good to have a link back to the main page. I originally (3 years ago) found the forum first -- before the main page -- by doing a Google search for "Jedi Robe". And goody... I'd love to see a Mission Photos thread in the public areas. ;D

For some reason the new fader was disabled. I have no idea why, could have been a Proboards update or something. In any case, I fixed it. Than you Kryy for bringing it to my attention! Should it say what it says now or just flash the web address?
There's nothing we can do about making the banner clickable to go back to the main website. However, the address is on the banner, on the header, and there's a post in Info and FAQ's titled Our Main Website and the link is in there. ;D
The Missions thread can, of course, be moved! We just have to figure out the best place for it. Idealy, the place for all those photos should be in the Gallery. That's what the Gallery was set up for. No reason we can't do both!!

However, the address is on the banner, on the header, and there's a post in Info and FAQ's titled Our Main Website and the link is in there. ;D Great... it's back! And it's perfect. The main idea was for a visitor to easily get back to the main site. which he/she can now do. It likely was an update that made it go away. I call them "sabotage patches"... every time we get them at work, something goes awry... we just never know where until we have a deadline or something. You'd think Goldie was our astromech. The Missions thread can, of course, be moved! We just have to figure out the best place for it. Idealy, the place for all those photos should be in the Gallery. That's what the Gallery was set up for. No reason we can't do both!! It seems to me that the best place for the Missions Photos thread would be a whole new third section under "TJA Events". Just call the section "Mission Photos" and let people start new threads for events, or maybe do one thread per year. This thread could be moved there or kept here. If moved, maybe the name could be changed to "Archives" or something so it won't be confusing. If a whole new section is created, I would suggest putting a "sticky" at the top with "How to Post Photos" with preferred photo sizes, some simple instructions mentioning photobucket, iphoto, etc. to help new people. (I had a terrible time posting pictures the first few times I tried...) Then perhaps the best of these could be selected and posted in the gallery, or instructions could be in that sticky for "how to submit photos to the gallery". I know all of these procedures have been discussed in the forums, but I never can remember where I saw them, so having them in one place in a distinctive "Mission Photos" area might be helpful to us all and especially new folks. These are merely ideas, but bottom line.... I would like to see all of this neat stuff get more exposure. (Pun intended this time... )

Ok, here are my thoughts: We have the Gallery on the main site which was specifically created to show photos from any and all TJA events. public.fotki.com/JediAssembly/ I encourage everyone to send their pictures to Jedi Kai for uploading. We do have a Past Events Archive at the bottom of the boards, choc full of stories and photos. Instead of having a gallery in each order of the boards, just create a thread and post reports or pictures in your Order. After a time, they get moved to the Archives. That's what we've been doing all along. This thread can be moved to one of two places where people will see it best-- the Cantina or stickied in Large Scale Events. Or, we could have a new section under TJA Events for all "mission reports" to go in like you mentioned. Good idea! That would be do-able............. I just worry about the length of the boards............ it's an awful lot to read thorugh!
