Hmmmmmm, now I remember why I don't want to be a stromtrooper. You all look good and I'll look forward to the fan film.
Were you filming in the accelerator ring? I notice the curved path. They're supposed to be having a pajama party at Fermilab for the turning on of the LHC at CERN. But darnit, they're not going to get much more done than that; no good science until next spring. I don't know what they're supposed to be doing in all that time. Tweaking? No ...we were filming outside in their prairie restoration area... it is a very neat place... I would like to go back just to enjoy it...when not in armor... Yes...for short people I can't recommend armor.. even though I have cut the armor to try and scale it down.. well.. as you can see.. I need to take out more.. I just don't think I can...

Yesterday, I represented The Jedi Assembly at the Pottery Barn Kids in Northern Virginia's Fair Oaks Mall. The event ran from noon to 2pm. Our group consisted of a Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Princess Leia, and myself. They had a long queue line roped off in front of the store, and when I arrived to change clothes at 11:15, there were already a few dozen families in line. Leia was already in costume, and was making the rounds greeting all the kids in line. They had an area right in the entrance cleared for us, with large floor fans blowing on us from both sides (they musta got the memo about armored costumes ). When noon rolled around, security only let five groups in at a time. It was very well organized. Vader and I agreed to "belt-hilts" for this event, thinking there wouldn't be enough space to swing sabers around, but after a half hour of "OMG LOOK!! IT'S DARTH VADER!!!!!!!", and our Princess (Lori Frye) having to coax the kids with "Don't you wanna say hi to a Jedi?", I switched out my hilt for a luxeon bladed lightsaber (the great equalizer ). After that both the Stormy-Vader duo, and the Leia-ObiWan/QuiGon/JediDude pair had their own waiting lines. ;D All the kids wanted to hold the super-bright-green Katarn lightsaber, and all the parents wanted to get a photo of their kids holding it. Fun stuff! The kids all had autograph books too, and we were all signing our characters' names. I started out signing Koda Vonnor, but since I had the goatee and the hair pulled back in Rahm Kota style, I switched to signing his name. I'm hoping some of them will pick up the Force Unleashed game and make the connection ... hehehe. All in all it was a fun event, and the Pottery Barn folks treated us great! I did not take a camera, but the store staff is supposed to be getting some pix to us. I will post them when I can.

AWESOME Koda!
I was hoping that TJA members would be "checking in" with their Pottery Barn mission photos...
I have been having internet issues all weekend with the flooding we have had... but I know Lionel represented TJA (I had another fundraiser that I had already been commited to) at the Chicago downtown Pottery Barn location... I will try to get some photos of Lionel's effort from the event coordinator....

Pottery Barn Event The padawans and I trooped the Pottery Barn event here in the 'Springs. The wife of the Stormtrooper took the pictures as we were greeting / posing with over 200 groups. We had a great time. My hand is sore from signing autographs. ;D

Vasculitis Walk today. No other costumers were able to make it this year. But at least I had a fan.
