Hi all, This past weekend Master Plwel and I, along with Master Sargo Nuff and several other Rebel Legion members, attended a joint event with the 501st at the Crofton MD library to promote reading for the kids. We had a great turnout with over 1100 people total throughout the day. Master Plwel got roped into being the 'gimp' for a round of "Duel The Jedi" where kids took turns trying to beat him in a lightsaber fight. I'm here to report that he went almost undefeated on the day (*cough*4kidsBeatHimLikeARedHeadedYoungling*cough*). We fought Vader too but could not defeat him as there were only three Jedi in attendance (I personally got force-choked so I was out of the fight early ). Anyway, it was a lot of fun for all the kids (and us too). I will post some pix that Master Nuff graciously sent me, as soon as I get them roto-scoped. Stay tuned! ~ Koda

Excellent. 1100 people at a library event? That must be a BIG library. I've done a couple local library reading events and attendance was in the dozens. Of course, one of them was in the village where that old TV series, Twin Peaks, was filmed!

1100 was the total number of people "through the door" over the 4 hour time period, "as reported by the library staff." Take it in context. My best guess was about 200-300 people actively participating, mostly kids. It seemed very crowded to me. I'll post some pix when I get time. Right now I have 80 pics on a memory-stick but haven't had the time to sort through and rotoscope some. ~ Vonnor

Misssion Photos.... Aurora "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" (in armor for the morning) pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/schphgochi/album?.dir=/182escd&urlhint=actnCheryl....Hailey's costume looks AWESOME! And it looks like you guys had a great time..I know Jim Tampa was headed for Kiddieland after our Cancer Walk....where the 5K was really not a long walk for me...I was really beat up from the armor...and my right leg was pretty painful...so running around Kiddieland in the same armor would have been...well not much fun...and changing into Jedi would have been a pain.... But boy....after seeing the photos...I am really sorry I missed out!

Leda, Corja, Stey-Fann and I were at Con*Cept this week-end. We had a real blast. You have no idea how tired I am right now, but I believe this first purely TJA participation in Canada was a complete success... we had our table, distributed flyers and M&Ms, Leda got interviewed, Corja and Leda won awards.... tres tres cool. click here for some pictures. Now I understand Leda's new avatar... Oh... I placed Corja's and Leda's award-winning presentation on youtube: click here
