The request for assistance at a Clone Party for Aric who was turning 4 came through the 501st main boards. Sadly, we had no Clones available but thanks to TK 8114 - we had a Stormtrooper to accompany this Jedi to Aric's house. As always, Star Wars fans are amazing! Aric's mom made Jedi robes for all of the kids attending and had a bucket-o-sabers for them all. Jim and I planned to do two games - the Lightsaber Training with balloons and lightsabers (taking great care that this game is nothing like "Jedi Academy at Disney) and "Hot Thermal Detonator". I ran through a few moves with the kids and while I had them on the floor doing Jedi Meditation, TK 8114 arrived.....the kids were clearly impressed with Jim. We went on to attempt the lightsaber and balloon game, but the kids all seemed a little shy so we went for Hot Thermal Detonator and then some photos. I would like to thank Aric and his parents and friends who made us all feel right at home and also made a VERY generous donation to "Make-A-Wish" for our participation at this party. Aric's dad showed me Aric's Star Wars themed bedroom while Jim got ready....some really nice stuff in there! It is an honor to attend parties like this when true Star Wars fans invite us into their home to share in thier celebrations. I am pretty sure that all of the parents enjoyed our visit as well. And...one thing Aric's dad told me kinda sent shivers down my spine. Rodger told me that Aric told him on Thursday morning that he had a dream that there was a Jedi that came to the house and SHE was standing "right here" (while Rodger pointed to a spot only a scant foot or two from where I was standing). Goosebumps...as it was interesting that Aric saw a female Jedi in his dream.. HUGE....HUGE....HUGE Thanks to TK8114 - Jim Norman for coming out especially after he had just done the Hunger Walk in the AM... THANK YOU JIM!It is an honor to serve with you! Very nice. Yes, it is freaky that the boy had a dream about a female Jedi being there!

[a href=" "] [/a] [a href=" "] [/a] This past friday, I had one of the rare opportunities to go out in Jedi costume to a children's hospital. More often than not, hospitals just don't seem to want us to visit except on rare occasions. One of our local Midwest Garrison members was persistant and got the hospital to agree to let us visit them....the hospital was "Hope Children's Hospital" which is connected to Christ Advocate Hospital. We made our rounds floor to floor and room to room to anyone who wanted a visit from us. The mission report by Patrick Higgins is here (public forum so you should be able to view): www.midwestgarrison.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10274Obviously....I was the Jedi.... I am not sure who enjoyed our visit more...the kids or the Doctors and Staff. Anyway...if you have a Children's Hospital locally and would like to visit and bring a little cheer... be persistant...

Ours won't allow us in rooms and won't allow helmets. We have to hang out in an activity room and let the children come to us. Not many have.

Ours won't allow us in rooms and won't allow helmets. We have to hang out in an activity room and let the children come to us. Not many have. It does seem that making breakthroughs at Children's hopitals is VERY difficult. I had tried getting into this Hospital on two other occasions and was unsuccessful. When we were there on Friday...and the enthusiasm was so overwhealming I spoke to some of the ladies who where in charge of us....and stated the fact that we had tried before... they told us that we should have gone straight to someone at Hope Children's rather than dealing with the parent organization of Christ Advocate Hospital.... The only thing that we were limited to was just 4 people...and no weapons... at first they didn't even want the lightsaber...but I brought it along just in case.... I figured I could always leave it behind in the room where the Troopers left their tubs...but when I "ignited" the MR Saber...the lady from Hope's eyes lit up ...and she said..."oh yeah"! And once she saw the kids' eyes also light up when I gave the kids the saber to hold.... she was glad that I brought it... the saber was a little "ice breaker" with the kids.

Not a costume event, but a personal "mission". I'm in SF, enjoying a free hotel and the city while my husband attends a week long meeting for work. Today I went to visit Yoda and wore my TJA shirt for the occasion:

Oh, shoot. I didn't think there would be a gift shop as the whole place was very incognito. Not a hint of LFL except for Yoda.

Yea, there is a LFL/Skywalker Ranch gift shop in there somewhere, but I've never been able to determine if its for invited guests or the public

I think it must not be for the public. The whole place has sign posts but they just say "building C" etc. There is a Starbucks, which is on the signposts. So if there were a gift shop for the public, it would have had a sign, I think. I saw a gym and a cafeteria through windows but neither had a sign and those buildings required key cards to enter.
I did some research ahead of time but it was limited by the fact that the "Letterman Digital Arts" website has very little information. None, really, except vague location.
