Iagon Tralik here. Sad that we dont have much members in Mississippi. Right now I think that the only members are my master and myself. We're trying to recrut more people but most of them we come across just want to join the 5o1st

as a member in all groups I can understand the issues of recruting in places. esspecially when competeing against the 501. The 501 has alot of draw soley because its a group of easily mass produced costumes. No offense to anyone eles here who may be a cross over, but lets face it. How hard is it to buy a kit? I have a clone and a stormie. Yea it was a bit of a pain to assemble the armor. But i didnt even have to buy the tools. I borrowed them. To be a jedi takes far more dicipline than the average 501 guy has. You need sewing tallent, leather skills, and just as heavy a poket to be an individual and not a CLONE..lol i couldn't help it.
To be honest I think The Jedi Assembly needs to get just as agressive with its enlisting. We have 200 full on members. Thats a great start. I think if we just put ourselves out there a little bit more, people would want to join us. I mean heck, we are alot more organized than the RL So i dont see why not. Yet patience is the true path and agressive enlistment can lead to the dreaded bathroom jedi label being placed on us as well. it is a delema that I meditate on deeply. Thoughts... anyone...

Actually, it's very hard to outfit a stormtrooper. The vacu-forming is not easy and takes many failures to get it right. If you have to pay for you armor, it's just not cheap since then you're paying for materials and another person's time. And after a Mardi Gras event last year I was at with some stormtroopers they compared all the spots where their armor had pinched them. That's not the sort of badge of honor I'd got for, but costumers will suffer for their art
Stormtroopers have a design advantage over Jedi costumes. They're just more recognizable than Jedi, especially when you get a bunch of them together. Add in a Vader and everyone knows who they are. Jedi are just a less recognized part of SW costuming front, but it's so nice when you do get noticed.
If one wishes to recruit, the weakest place to start is with a comparison to another group.
