Cheez-Whiz, Ballerina Dresses, and big Samoan-American cops that drink too much at conventions... Himiko should understand these.

I'm afraid of a lot of things, but the fear of not doing my best even when I've prepped myself. I guess I don't really know what my best is.

What's the deal with clown fear, anyway? I don't get it. Really, I don't. ;D They seem strange to me, but fear? Can anyone explain that?

Depending on whether or not you've read "It" by Stephen King... Anyway, one of the things I've always figured about the fear of clowns is that it is difficult to understand anything or anyone that seems unnaturally happy (or sad, depending on the clown) and that it's less a fear of the clown itself and more a fear of what the person behind the painted face might be like.

I think it has alot to do with the abstractness of a clown. The white face, exaggerated features and clothing can be akin to deformities. It really depends on the setting I think. Ever been to an empty fairground or circus late at night? Pretty scary...

Oh! I know what else I fear; losing my dog, Annie. That and staying single my whole life.

.....after being married to my husband for 20 years, I am afraid of nothing.... actually the divorce brought out my strengths..
I love spiders, seeing that I have a Tarantula..I do not kill insects in my house, except the ones I feed the Spider. I always take the occassional outside one back outside. Especially the Geckos.... all creatures serve a purpose in Nature and I feel they have just as much right to life as I do...some think I am weird.....but I respect every one of Natures creatures and I read about them to know which ones to leave alone and have a little more respect for.....

Hmmm....everything is a big word. Animals and plants aren't the only things that are alive. Does a disease-causing bacteria have the right to live? Does a virus? Does a poisonous plant? Does a Lyme Disease-carrying tick? Does a household pest, such as a wild mouse? Does a cat? Does an unborn fetus?
All are alive. Which ones have the right to live? Where does the line get drawn? The point is, the phrase 'everything deserves to live' opens up a whole new can of worms. I'm not looking for an argument or even dissagreeing. Just a reminder that the main thing is BALANCE. If there is too much of anything, there can be a problem.

I agree MJ.... and Undercoverjedi...lighten up.... Bacteria and viruses are a part of the balance too....mother Nature's way of weeding out the weak......but I was talking about an innocent spider that get lost and gets in my house. There is no reason to kill them, they too, are a part of the balance....and as far as the mice and cats..I have had both as pets and ......the unborn fetuses..... I have been a nurse for 37 years and have seen more horrors than most. I have raised three children alone and miscarried four babies at 5 months gestation, so you really don't want to get into that discussion with me......so back to the fear discussion....being single isn't so bad, undercoverjedi, my daughter is 30 and has just now found Mr. Right.... so hang in there....love will strike when you least expect it.....
