Everyone is afarid of something.. so lets share fears..
Im terrified of Spiders, roaches (of any kind), and clowns.. Yes clowns.. I will never watch Stephen Kings IT ever again...
What makes that worse is that when I was back home in Howell MI and working at McDonalds we would have Ronald himself come to the store and I would freak.. he even tried comming up to me and talking to me and I about had a fit...

I'm afraid of the dark... not indoors though - just outside. If I know I'm out in the open and I can see absolutely nothing then I get sorta panicked. Like waking up while backpacking... it's just eerie.
Also, I hate swimming in deep water where I can't see down into very well. I'm OK if it's clear enough, but when I can hardly see my feet how am I supposed to tell if a huge fish is planning on eating me?
I guess it's really the unknown that scares me... if I can see it I can deal with it, but if I don't know what's there I'm pretty much screwed.

I think mine is similar to Don's. Though, if you think about it, being afraid of the unknown is less being afraid of what could be there and more being afraid of what you can imagine being there.
So for my fear, an unpeaceful solitude would cover it. Unless I know for certain everything that is around me, my mind can and will work overtime to develop things that could be around me, for good and bad.

I wouldn't say I'm scared of spiders as such, but they do disgust me. Their method of locomotion physically repulses me. Mannequins of any kind really give me the creeps, although paradoxically, life-like machines (that are sometimes displayed at Expos) don't bother me at all. I also can't look at crosses or crucifixes because they (or more accurately what they represent) repulses me. I used to enjoy studying about various religions when I was younger, but as I studied, I began to see things I did not like, until now, I just have an automatic and unconscious aversion to religious icons.

I have a mild fear of heights. I say mild because I mostly feel uncomfortable only if I feel like my footing is unstable.
It can't be too bad, since it doesn't stop me from climbing to the peak of my two story house to clean branches and leaves off the roof. I just make sure I stay well back from the edge and lean uphill.

I have another fear.. now I think this may sound childish but Ive had it sense I was a child. I'm afarid of doctors. Now I go to them often enough wich is fine.. It's just I get his feeling of being an enclosed labrat. I know when when that fear started and that was when I broke my arm at 5 years old. I remember everthing that happened. I think it was being so young and having needles poked into me and then when I thought it was all over when the cast came off.... Well I had pins in my arm that was suppose to just pull out. One somhow went in my arm and the doc thought he could cut into me at the office and get it out! Well needless to say my screams were heard in the whole office. The shots didnt work and he cut into me twice. So in the end I had to go back to sugery and I have a slight fear of them and offices ever sense.

Well I could say the obvious ones... burning to death, drowning, losing loved ones, dying prematurely, etc... But what is it that I fear the most... Failure. I have a strong fear of failure. Of messing things up. It can be paralyzing at times. It has prevented me from obtaining my goals, has given me a reputation of shyness (being scared to death of saying the wrong thing isn't as easy to get past as one might believe), and has also made me a classic procrastinator. All because I was brought up to be terrified of the consequences of doing something wrong. In my adult years (well perhaps the last 5 or 10), I've slowly made the effort to get past this in baby steps. However I sometimes can still be "the quiet guy" at parties, and I have not come close to reaching the potential I know is within me. Some might say, "Hurry up! Time is ticking away! You don't have forever!" Others might say, "It is never too late!" Bit by bit my friends. Every day I try to accomplish something, no matter how small.

When I was little it was the typical monsters under the bed or in the closet. I was afraid of the dark, too. I still have a nightlight. But it's a blacklight, so it's much cooler. Now? Loneliness is a big one. Or never being happy despite any actions that one may take. Or that the gauze tunic on my second Jedi costume will wear out........... yeah, that's a biggie.

I am afarid of failure as well. Though I hide it and never seem to be. Sometimes I dont say the right things at all despit being careful. Yet I learn. In a way I've had the navy to force me out of that.

Spiders, mostly, and heights, ans simple common electricity, I hate to plug things in or pull the plug, especially in the UK, the get more juice.
You'd be amazed at how many people are terrified of clowns, and it's as many adults as children, I see that reaction pretty much every day at work in the store, we have all kinds of clown masks on display and theget lots of reaction!

I had a lot of fears, but soimehow with God's help, I had been conquering them one by one.
I used to be afraid of the dark , but got over it, now it's merely toleraited. I don't enjoy it since with the lack of depth perception and three dimensional eyesight, it's a bit hard to see.
I used to be pretty scared of doctors and needles too, until one physcian had the wisdom to explain to the terrified 8 year old about what the shot was for. he explained the medical aspects, in terms I understood. Then if you can belive me he ASKED me for permission to administer the shot. Now medical , doctors and medicine in general hold a fascinaition for me. I'm far moe aware fo my body's internal workings and am amazed.
I used to be afraid of water cuz my dad threw me into the pool at age six. I screamed like mad, promptly sank screaming, and came back up took a breath and screamed some more. Noone jumped in to get me either. when I hauled my self out, i was ticked major at him. I think I was more mad and angry than afraid. Age ten the gym class was offering swimming, the teacher saw i wasn't going to get in, so she waited for me to choose to go in on my own, once that happened, I got the hang of it quickly. Now I like swimming and water. Spiders, ehh. No biggie. I just like them to not bite me, stay off me and outside. Roaches. Oh gak, repulsive, nasty, icky things.
Heights. I don't like them but I REALLY enjoy flying, tree climbing, rock climbing, and jumping off high things. Hedi BASE jumping anyinne. Yawho! I think the biggest fear I have in extreme heights. Looking off the edge of a mile high building. It makes my stomach bottom out, I get a bit of vertigo and a part fo me inside screams "Get me down NOW!!".
Elevaitors. hate 'em. I'd rather take the stairs. At cons, it's all I do. use the stairs. I don't care if the Consuite is forty floors up, I'm hiking. I only tolerate lifts cuz in some buildings like the Petronis Towers in Kulaua Lumpor(Sp?), I have to use it. So I guess it leaves visiting Coruscant and the Jedi temple out. The extreme heights, high soeed lifts(glass ones even worse) and floating platforms. Oh man, don't get me on one of those. The thought of not being anchored to the ground is not a pleasent one.

I am not a big fan of bugs. Rodents I like. Snakes are okay. But I hate bugs!

True, too many different thoughts go along with what scares or frightens people. Repulsed is good...seeing as that seems to be a main premise on "Fear Factor"...such as downing a maggot smoothie is less a fear and more a repulsive thing. (As for icons, I've never been one to like them either.)

Clowns...I'm not sure if it's the way they act, or just the fact the make-up (or masks) hides what kind of person is behind it. I know when I've done some mask workshops with acting groups that they felt strange just surrounded by people they "didn't know".

Hmmm...what do I fear? I really don't know. I guess I don't have any fears. I mean I am not afraid of heights or small spaces, or big crowds, or spiders and bugs and snakes, or antique furniture or clowns (my sister is scared to death of clowns) or things that are really horrific. So I don't have any fears like that. If anything, I guess I could say my only fear would be fear itself.
