While doing some spring cleaning today, I found a couple of robes I made very early on, one was a light weight wool, another was a sort of Ki Adi style sleeveless vest in a brushed flannel and of course there is the the natural undyed silk-wool blend that started to be for someone else in a show, but we changed that costume, so I still have it and have been planning to redo it for myself. And then there's that bolt of dark brown wool boucle that I've been saving for a robe for myself, I usually wear my brown cotton twill, and think it's a bit warm and usually take it off, but I really should redo the robes that I don't wear, then I might wear them at least for pictures. Anybody else have any redos?

Im thinking of touching up my lightweight robe... specifically the shoulder area. Right now it has no tucks, but I hate how it weighs down the shoulders of my tunic, so Im gonna try to make tucks, but that will shorten the sleeves so Im not sure what to do about that.
I'll need this robe for orlando!

that would be comfy I decided not to mod my robe... I should have at least 1 w/o shoulder tucks and at least its not one of the heavier ones. My other 2 have them. One's in wool and the other is in flannel. A sleeveless robe would suit the florida weather... like a cape with armhole openings.

His RotJ robe... I think its just a long brown cloak but with a smaller hood than a prequel jedi robe. No sleeves or armholes.
Where's Nova... she would know for sure

That sounds like how I would descibe it, but such a dark lit scene hard to be certain, other than it was not black.

Oh, wow, do I have a redo....... I made an Anakin-style sleeveless robe from AOTC out of beige wool. A nice rough weave.
And it shrank.
I swear I pre-washed, but it shrank.
So, I've had it hanging with electrical clips for months to get some length back. I undid the sewing on the inner lining along the edges and at some point I have to re-sew that again. It should look acceptable, but maybe a little shorter than I intended.

Well, at least you won't trip in it.

What a pain. shrinkage is always a problem.

I have to admit that while I like the look of long trailing robes, they are impractical, especially at a crowded con. Not only can you trip, they get stepped on, too.
At least the sleeveless style looks acceptable when shorter. The regular, full Jedi robe does not look good at all if it's too short, upper ankle/ mid-calf length.

I recently bought a very lightweight sleeveless robe in brown I might wear with one of my costumes ans it has a saber blade pocket "a ideal I first noted from Ani-Chay " so I can now carry my favorite saber on belt inwtead of the prop o have

I have a heavy-weight flannel robe that I bought years ago from Master Ryan from the West Coast. My light-weight robe is a Rubies one that i bought before I was accepted into TJA.
