I'm applying to the AAS RN Program at SUNY Delhi. Yup! I'm heading back to nowhere upstate NY to go to college full-time, again. Back to the cows and corn! I'm filling in the online SUNY College Application and have my fingers crossed. I'd *LOVE* to go to the SUNY Buffalo School or Nursing, but I have to stay within my budget and get back to work as quickly as possible. It's strange that I don't have to take an exam like an SAT for SUNY Delhi, but Westchester Community College does. Maybe it's because too many people want to enter their AAS RN Program? Hmmmm....

It's a 2 1/2 hour drive from where I live in Carmel, NY. It's a 30 minute shorter drive than I had to do to attend SUNY Oneonta. I'll have to live up there. My parents offered me old bedroom back so I could attend Westechester Community College, but the "landlords" haven't called the general contractor in to replace the sheetrock. That was supposed to be done last summer, but they had their bedroom re-painted, instead. Just more hot air in my face from the two of them. My mom decided to provide childcare for 3 of my 4 nephews and being young kids they are LOUD! The week that I had to sleep in their extra bedroom while my roof was being replaced, I couldn't go to sleep until 9-10 AM, and woke up just in time for dinner and to get ready to go back to work for my night shift.
I submitted an E-Application to SUNY Delhi ( 2 1/2 hrs drive) and Dutchess Community College (aka SUNY Dutchess, 1 hour drive). I hope that my Nursing credits transfer fine to Delhi, but Dutchess doesn't accept Nursing Program credits from other colleges. The only RN credits they'll refuse will be my Nutrition for Nurses class that I took Fall 2011. However, they only accept Putnam and Dutchess County residents into their AAS RN Program.
I have my fingers crossed.....

So far, this has been a very depressing week. Last week on thurs.a friend was hit by a truck, he'll recover, but will be in hospital for several months. I won't even talk about fri., to awful. This morning I heard that another friend's wife had passed this morning of brain cancer, long expected, but sad, at least she is no longer in pain. The office cat is in very bad shape, she's very old, but, in the last month, she's really declined.

Nova I'm so sorry to hear that. It's hard to see someone go through painful times at any time, but especially around the holidays. Hope your friend stays in good spirits.
I've been busy these days. I got a 3 day temp job working with a restoration company doing fire clean up. This house had a chimney fire so we had to pack out their belongings that might be salvageable. No heat or light in the house so it was a cold and dirty job. I hope to get some more work with that company soon... it's something I've done before so it's familiar work.

Leda, so glad to hear about the work, even if temp, you've had experience and it's not a common field. I'll think good thoughts for you.

Great weather we had for the end of the world last night... a December thunderstorm... wind, rain lightning... and now my son's car won't start so I have to take him to work.

SUNY sent a confirmation that my applications for Suny Delhi and Dutchess Community College were sent to the respective colleges. I have also sent out the transcript requests. My physician has sent out my vaccination records to the colleges, too. My high school was contacted and has sent my high school transcripts out. Looks like I'm all set!
Next year will definitely be my last year having a membership in the SCA: East Kingdom. I've had it with people pissing on me without the courtesy of calling it rain. The EK has a very short memory and forgot the years of service I gave promoting archery and the skill I displayed as an archer. My GMB was, most likely, the person who got my name on the list of people to be inducted into The Order of the Sagittarius. I had to stay home for 3 years to help my dad and now the EK won't give me the recognition that they were going to give me. No loss....I'll be busy with being a full-time college student and won't have much time except during Summer Break.

I just tried to get my transcripts... turns out I owe a book or 30 bucks to the library before they'll release them. On another note... Hubby got me a dress form for xmas.... sort of. I sent him a link of the one I wanted and he thought he'd shop around and find a better deal... well 60 bucks and one mannequin later it's not what I needed. He can't send it back because it's not worth it with the shipping and restock fee... so I have a nice costume display for our next fan table! Luckily I got some visa gift cards from my sis and mother in law... and together with some cash I saved I bought the one I wanted while it was still on sale! yay! ak1.ostkcdn.com/images/products/L12712499.jpgHe did feel bad... he didn't know the difference. But the boots he gave me made my day! ;D www.zappos.com/two-lips-two-cities-dark-brown

The boots are very comfortable... size 8.5 and they seem to run wide enough for me. Many times I have to take 9 if it's not wide.... then it's too long. But these are really great! They do have a zipper on the inside but it's not that obvious.
The dress form I can't wait to get in the mail... I still would like to make a duct tape form... something I've got to try!
