Well, I've made my very first Jedi robe. It's far from perfect, as the latter half is sewn with black thread I( ran out of brown), and the strip I cut to cover up the raw edge of hood meeting cloak is too small to fit. Aside from that it looks okay. It's made from that suede-look stuff someone posted on a while back (wool is never availible when I have money), so the inside doesn't look too good...but the outside does. The color looks fairly good with the colors of my tunics and tabards, and I love the way it billows. I'll put some pics up later so you can see what it looks like.

The best thing to do with a new robe is to wear it a little bit. Work out the kinks; you'll always be thinking of improvements, but that's part of the fun. Looking forward to seeing it.

Pics! (sorry about the quality- I had to capture off the vidoe camera again) robe back- hood up robe front-hood up robe back- hood down robe front- hood down I know the hood is a little on the small side, but being short-waisted I didn't exactly want to sit on it. I'm already regretting gathering the hood and robe so much; it's too small to close well. The folds were the hardest to figure out, since the inside of the fabric is slippery. I used a LOT of pins and ended up breaking yet another needle...and this stuff isn't that thick! At least it's a beginning. That ought to told me off until some wool (and more cash, LOL) rolls in.

VEry Nice! Of course If I had sewn it the robe would have been blood red by the time I finished....needles do not like me at all. ;-)

Looks great! Try wearing for a couple hours to work out the bugs and see how warm it is, though people might ask why you're wearing it.

Looks good in pictures. What Ani said, I took my 1st one apart twice before I was really happy with it, and re hemmed it after a couple of wearings.

I'm too afraid to take it apart...this frabric frays like no one's business. Good news: on digging through my fabric scraps I found enough matching frabric to cover the raw edge between hood and robe. Yay!

I think it rocks. Everytime I've worn my robe when at an event, I end up tossing it off when we do our lightsaber routines
