yea, it was... he was the only one that actually made infomercials interesting and fun to watch. The world just got a little more boring. He was a good man...

He always woke me in the middle of the night. Weird though, I wonder what the cause was. Always sad when they're so young.

The early results are that he died from hypertensive heart disease. That is surprising since I'm pretty sure it's preventable; I wonder if he knew he had it?
I always thought his voice was annoying, but memorable, which is good for a salesman.

But nevertheless,he will have some new commercials out soon... "Khubani said he plans to go ahead with a new marketing campaign due to start next Monday for an in-car gadget, which he hopes will be Mays' most successful TelleBrands pitch. But he said it was unclear how his death would affect sales." news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090629/en_nm/us_advertising_billymaysI think they are just trying to cash in on his death...

Very strange week for celebrities. Hard to believe Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and Billy Mays all within a couple of days.
May they all rest in peace.

I think they are just trying to cash in on his death... But he described himself as a 'pitchman'. And it looks like he loved doing it; he certainly wasn't shy about it. He likely would have been disappointed if they didn't go forward with the ad campaign.

I always thought his voice was annoying, but memorable, which is good for a salesman. I found his voice SO annoying I would avoid his commercials like the plague. I couldn't reach the remote fast enough.

He reminded me of car salesmen back in the 70's! The louder they spoke, the greater chance of pressuring people into buying their product. My mute button is used quite frequently during 'infomercials'. Even with the sound off, I found him very entertaining.

I thought he was funny, but when the commercials came on within minutes of each other, it got old fast. Sad he went so young, though.
This is getting kinda weird; five celebs dying within weeks (if not days) of each other. Karl Malden is gone now too. The only film I saw him in was Pollyanna-he played the preacher -but I thought he was a very good actor. At least this one went of old age.

And a lot of smaller less-known celebs as well...Fred Travelena (Vegas performer), a couple of older musicians, an actress from the 50s, and now the older British comedienne from "Are You Being Served."

All of them along with David Carridine, who also passed away in a very strange way before the others did. May they all rest in peace.

Well, at least the reports of Jeff Goldblum's demise were wrong, it was reported that he fell over a cliff in Australia the same day as Farrah & MJ died. I have to check on Fred Travalena, I might have known him a long time ago.

Stephen Colbert did 'Jeff Goldblum is dead' jokes for a couple days. With Jeff Goldblum. It was very funny when Stephen showed clips of Australians saying he was dead and Goldblum saying, 'Oh, I must be dead then. I owe you an apology, Stephen."
Colbert already had Goldblum on as a guest recently to interview someone from the 'fly community' about Barack Obama killing a housefly. So, the Australian story fit right in.
