Does anyone have a suggestion for a speaker to go inside the hilt? There are a couple sources that I am aware of: The Custom Saber ShopRadio ShackAre there any other soruces? Is one better quality than any other? thanks!

Radioshack's ones aren't good. They're more buzzers then speakers.
TCSS is changing to use the same ones as Plecter does - a full fledge 1W speaker with a good frequency response - louder and less distortion.
It all will depends on what is it you want - distorded sound *can* be good for lightsaber sounds... but if you pay big bucks for a good sound board, why scrape its result with a cheap speaker?

check in garage sales or fleemarket for Hasbro electronic lightsabers. The speackers normally fit in 1 1/2 inch tubing and come with some impact sensor. The sound is not as perfect to MRFX but still. its better than nothing.

TCSS now has a pommel system that allows for a speaker grille and resonance chamber.
