I have an idea for a "feature" in my saber that seems both logical and straightforward. The problem is it involves a bit more wiring than just a switch and two LEDs. I am largely ignorant of wiring ang such and need some input from a Saber Master who who knows more of such things. Anyone who thinks they can help please PM me for discussion of the idea. I don't want to say much in open forum since I don't know if I can pull it off yet.

Okay let me guess then... a vibration unit that is gyroscopic so that it only vibrates when you swing the saber? ;D

my idea is simpler and not so ambitious...though that one sounds great.

thanks Mars-uh Pial. Very enlightening PM and link.....guess I'm still too new. Yes. My basic idea is to add a vibration unit to the saber hilt along with a variable speed knob to approximate the Power adjustment knob on Sabers. That would let you feel the vibration of the hilt when it was "on" and also adjust the power level to feel the increase or decrease as needed. It has been done before...sort of...though I think adding the control knob is a new twist. don't know enough of wiring and such on my own to pull it off. Corbin's site is awesome, but I wouldnt know what to do with the components once I got them.

Yeup. Sure does. Corbin has a "Force Resonator" on his site. Is that good for the job...the description is vague enough that I'm unsure.
Man...his site really makes me want to just order 1 of everything and build my own....but that will have to wait for both more $$ and more experience.
Right now I'm looking at Two LEDs (One blinking) wired to a momentary switch and power source of 2AA cells. There is also a continuous switch to be hidden in the pommel so you can set the lights to stay on when the unit isn't held...not sure I'm going to include it or not yet.

Just FYI----- I purchased a lightsaber with a sound/vibration module inside, but the problem was that it interfered with the light for the blade. A flashlight bulb sat inside the hilt to illuminate an acrylic blade, and that was activated by a switch. A seperate switch was used to activate the sound module, which was, in fact, a simple electric motor that buzzed and vibrated a bit. But--- they were both powered by the same battery, so that when I switched on the sound, the light would dim significantly. I suggest you either use 2 seperate power sources (not a good idea spacewise) or design somekind of circuit that eliminates the power drain. I'm sure that's possible, I'm just not electronically saavy.

Thanks for the info. That's something to consider, but if I understand things correctly the LEDs and motor would not be a fast enough drain to cause the dimming. Please tell me if I'm wrong....anyone.

That might be true for LED's... I assume they use alot less power than a flashlight bulb would, and you wouldn't see the dimming as much. My whole blade went a few shades darker!

"Once you start down the Dark path, forever will it control your destiny." RU sure that "few shades darker" was a battery issue....

As far as vibration is concerned why not put a small electric motor in the hilt (like the ones in cheap RC cars.) they vibrate when they are on and run free without any resistance. you could even add a small rubber washer off set in the center to "bounce" the inside of the housing to amplify the vibration.
