You mean like standing up straight?? Seriously, I wore my costume (including saber) doing housework and deskwork, just to get used to it. And "getting used to it" is not just the big sleeves and boots and belt and saber... it IS the "getting into character" thing. I think going to a Con and striding around and posing with other Jedi... saber action, Force-push, whatever... is a big help with learning that. That's also one of the original reasons I got interested in fencing, but now I'm addicted to that for its own sake.

Exactly what you are saying. Wearing it while doing everyday stuff, and practicing jedi-oriented activities.
Wearing this particular costume correctly is something that you acquire.
For instance, taking picture: check your robe. People WILL step on it Another example: careful in the stairs.
There's also all the moves and poses you need to practice.
Looking great is not just a matter of having a perfect costume.

Yeah alot of costumers think the costume doesn't move at all and they don't need to check anythign cause they think it wil stay the same in every pic, but...they don't have LFL crew members fixing it in between takes everytime

And even so.... everytime I watch the movies now, I'm seeing a crooked belt or uneven tabards (or my fav -- hood inside out -- MOST uncool ), and I'm thinking (or saying out loud) "aha"!!! It happens to them too!! Hubby gets amused at me...

The constant fidgeting of a Jedi in gear.

because I do so much sword work and performances with lots of acrobatics(if you saw me and Qui-Kel at the DC Parade you knwo what I mean) mine can't move too much but still have to be comfortable. I've found connecting the tabards as well as the tabards atthe shoulders works great.

with me it depends on the chair and saber I have on, with all chairs and my swivel hook mounted one, across the lap. For all but chairs with sides, I wear my d-ring attached saber to the side, dangling as it is more comfortable(also the heavier one).

I sit with mine pointed in. Makes the most sense to me. Unless, of course, the hilt is unusually long or 'pointy', like some of those EU hilts I've seen. Those look downright dangerous!
