I'm posting I'm posting! I've been too busy causing drama on the RL Midwest board over patches to be posting over here That and I forgot my login on this board since I made it different from that one. Oops. Anyway, yeah. Hi Unfortunately I'll be moving my brother that weekend and won't be able to go down to lovely downtown Carmel, although I'd much rather don my Jedi garb than move his furniture... weather depending of course But I'll start posting over here more since I've been neglecting my Jedi duties. Have a good one!

Hi! I'm Uni Hawk. I' m new to this board. I'm from Des Moines ,IA and been making SW costumes for a few years now. I've been working on my jedi outfit for 2 year and I think I will be working on for another 2 years. Boots are going to be the hard pieces to find.(big calfs) Oh well the hunt is half the fun.

Greetings Uni Hawk...
Welcome to the Jedi Assembly.... lol....Jedi costumes are NEVER done.....I started mine in 1999....and am still "working" on it....
Boots indeed are a problematic.... Good leather boots can be pricey They REALLY need to fit and they need to look "Star Wars".....
Check out our boot thread.... I found my boots on e-bay....they looked good in the photo...very plain...with lots of possibilities....I sent the seller an e-mail and asked for measurements...like the width at the calf, length from heel to toe and width at ball of foot....using the measurements he sent me, I determined that they would fit...and fit they do! Don't go by size...... then when I got my boots...I took them to a local leatherworker to make them "Star Wars"....total cost... Boots on e-bay: $26.00 Leatherworker: $60.00 Completed look: Priceless.....I LOVE them
Anyway....welcome again....
and welcome to the Midwest Order.... ;D

Hi Hawk
Welcome to the Midwest Order. Feel free to look around and make yourself at home. Just be ready for a few of our practical jokers... you never know when a slightly soggy marshmallow may appear on your chair...

*21 marshmellow salute# Welcome unihawk! Hope you enjoy this crazy fun place. I got my boots last year at JCPenneys, the calfs are almost all elastic with a zipper on the inner leg side. Fit really nice.

Welcome unihawk!
I've found this group to be a great source of entertainment and enlightenment.
For my boots, I "retired" my favorite cowboy boots, which were soft sided (not the straight ones that are common.
Good luck!

Bows to the new padawan.....
If you need any help at all....you will find it here.... Check out all of the costuming threads....especially the older ones....there are a lot of sites listed for lightsaber help...along with some tips and tricks of our own members.....look in the prop areas....and lightsaber threads....
besides lightsabers....there is a ton of info on tunics, robes, and fabric.....selecting and finding boots and belts.....
read them carefully....you should find anything that you need to know....
Welcome to the Midwest Order!
